Some people say that ugly handwriting often goes with an 'artistic' personality "Ugly writers are creative people and independent thinkers (this writer doesn't always fit in with the expectations of society)." I'm not sure how accurate might be this statement but, since I like, I'd get my ugly handwriting as a virtue XD
