Our world has seven continents. Each continent is unique and distinct on its own. Do you know which continent you belong to?  Well… I, Robbie, of legal age, belong to the Asian continent. Mabuhay! I’m from the Philippines and my country is located in South-East Asia. Risty is a Filipina and works in the United Arab Emirates. I’m glad I have Asian friends. Onee is one of them and she’s from Indonesia. Kal is a thoughtful friend from Sri Lanka. She always likes to send wonderful e-cards on my page

Writing Challenge: Lexical Sets

Here I am with my attempt and my lexical sets focused on everything around the BABIES :-)

Finally it happened, yeah parenthood this new word, something totally unknown is trying to change your life upside down. In fact, things will never be the same again because there are not just two of you but that one...third one... ehm let's call him "invader", somebody who suddenly occupies your bedroom! Luckily sometimes he even sleeps in his crib. Instead of enjoying time with friends, you are sitting at

Writing Challenge: Lexical Sets

Hello, MyEC members! How’s your 2017 so far? I hope everything is fantastic and you’re still fond of Englishclub.  For this month, I would like to introduce to all of you our new writing challenge about ‘lexical sets’. Are you familiar with this vocabulary term? If not, let’s learn this topic together shall we?

A lexical set is a group of words which are all about the same topic and which all belong to the same part of speech. The group of words consists of nouns, gerunds, verbs, adverbs, or even

The Markets

Evangelina wrote a comment in my blog: The Stark Beauty Of Nature - The Pinnacles And Lancelin; "I have a wish, I would really like to go to one place that is on the Heritage List of every country I visit and have a photo from here". I told her that I never thought to visit those kind of places, but then tt reminds me that in nearly every country I've ever visited, I always visit their famous markets. LOL

So here, I want to share with some of you market places that I've been to.

O my heart, my companion

It has been once again ordered that we leave in exile.

Wander street to street begging

Wander town to town so that

could find the clue of the beloved

Let’s find any messenger, messenger to her,

Or ask every stranger where we lost the address of her

Always looking for her, day and night,

Talking to own self or to her in imagination

How would I tell you what is the night of sadness, it is very bad

It would be sufficient for me

if it was one night or there was any count.

It was not bad

Love Is Waiting Till I Die

Coming back with the memories. I'd like to dig into the grave of the EC's hidden history that might not be known or recognized by many especially new members here..

Once upon a time and just 6 years ago, I published a poem here under the title of "Morbid Love". Later I was very surprised by a very brilliant reply from Ohnie.  Ohnie replied my lines wearing the character of the second partner in the blog..

Today, I read a poem written by Shey. Immediately I remembered Ohnie and her blog.. So, I de

"A legal loophole in 1913 made it possible to send babies by mail. This picture was taken after it was banned in 1920" (phew!)

Yes, it's as crazy as it seems.

In the early days of the parcel post you just had to attach stamps to your children's clothes and send them, as any other "normal" letter or parcel (no kidding, just like that!*). They "rode trains to their destinations, accompanied by letter carriers. One newspaper reported it cost 53 cents for parents to mail their daughter to her grandpar

2347383894?profile=originalWell, here is your new task. It is quite easy, mostly the tenses, voices, prepositions. You know what to do, but if you don't just check out the previous blogs with the same title.

  1. When she entered to the kitchen, he already laid the table and waited to her (4 mistakes).
  2. She said if she will get sleepy, she goes to bed before I will return (3).
  3. I asked did she know when his plane will arrive (2).
  4. Anybody didn’t know will he win or not (3).
  5. I am waiting to her but she didn’t still come and called (3).

Eyes

what is happening to me? I am referring to my recent discussion about the traits of the good wife. The members gave their different views about the good wife. Most of them preferred the kind hearted woman.  There was a sort of a general agreement or a consensus about their opinions.  What is the secret that lies behind the beautiful eyes? Some people collapse when they appear suddenly in front of them. Others just keep looking at them or are just mesmerized. I agree with the saying, 'beauty is i

We always have some questions in our life. Some of them are simple. What is the weather today? Or what movie will we watch? It's simple. We every day give answers for tens or even more such questions. But sometimes you ask youself something more complex and you think about this continually, look for the solution, but can not find it. Do you do so? Did you have a problem which did not let you sleep?

It would be really wonderful if we have an answer for every our question!

Scientists have discovered a “lost continent” under the island of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean.

The island is actually sitting atop an undiscovered section of the 200-million-year-old “super-continent” Gondwana, which fragmented into Africa, South America, Antarctica, India and Australia nearly 180 million years ago, concluded a team of geologists headed by South Africa’s University of Wit

Yes, your doctor or even your parents will advise you to drink plenty of water. They have reason to do so, though.

Your body needs water to work properly - in fact, your body fluid accounts for most of your body weight. That is, you need to keep supplementing (drinking) water to make up for the everyday loss of your body fluid.

It's not a good idea, however, to drink too much water. Then, how much water is too much water? Some people may sugget you drink water even though you're not thirsty. They

Dear Luci, sorry for being late but I have a great excuse! I am having a poetic battle with my wife and she is about to win!

Nevertheless, here are a few slogans I could come up with.

Toilet parer:

Feel a tender touch sitting in the only one place you can be yourself!

A kitchen knife:

So sharp is it that seeing your wife holding it, you had better put on the cuirass!

A trash can:

Be a gentleman or you can find yourself there one day!

A plastic bag:

If you are sure you are not a docker, just use plasic ba

"Learn" vs "Study"

"Learn" vs "Study"

The words learn and study are closely related to each other. Learn means "to gain knowledge or skill by studying" and study means "to read, memorize facts, attend school, etc."

When you study something, you have not learned it yet. When you are studying something, you are reading books or articles about something you do not know a lot about yet, or using flashcards to memorize facts, or listening to a teacher in a classroom, or watching videos about something so that you can kno

The Passive Voice

2347383847?profile=originalWell, in my last tests were a few sentences in the passive voice and they turned out to be the most complicated for you to correct. So, I'd like to explain you how to use the passive voice correctly. Let's compre the active and the passive voices.

In the active voice, the subject performs the action denoted by the verb (the predicate).
