well. wherever we are, no one is allowed to be impolite or disrespectful when eating, so everyone must show respect to each other young and old alike not only to the elders. We are discussing table manners so this is the first rule one should know. Even if we know all of the above tips to polish our behaviour when we eat in restaurants abroad, it is still not acceptable to be impolite to anyone at a dinner table anywhere in the world.
Yes, respecting the elders and being polite is a good quality, even while eating.
I know France, Spain, Britain, Mexico, Japan, Korea, and Thailand.
note: Japanese people just like Koreans also accept a dish or a glass with both hands.
