Allow me to introduce myself. My name’s Gabriel Sowrian. I’ve joined the “EnglishClub” in the hope it will give me an opportunity to get together with like-minded people.

This is the first time I write blog on EC although I’m a member of our family for a long time. I used to think of many different ways to attract everyone and set plans to enhance my English. However, I didn’t have any improvement. I blame for my tight studying schedule, my busy work, my sickness, blah blah … As a result, my English gets worse and worse. Is there someone in your list who has an interesting story to tell? Does he or she have a unique job, a huge family, an identical twin? Has she climbed a big mountain, traveled the world, or overcome a major difficulty? T

- In the past, I divided my university courses into important and unimportant ones. Then, I worked hard towards mandatory courses and ignored the unimportant ones. So, I end up getting very good marks for my mandatory courses, but very low mark for easy ones. As such, my Grade Point Average came down.
Lesson: There are no important or unimportant courses. All of them are significant! Work hard no matter what kind of course you have!

  I'm certain that there are a lot of poor children who want to learn but they couldn't attend school because:

1. They prefer to work in order to sustain or provide a living for their family.

2. Because of poverty, many women and children are become victims of sexual exploitation and prostitution. 

3. Those young children could be the next generation of scientists, educators, or lawyers but have limited access of support because they are living in far away islands and have no means to reach them.

Last week one of my friends give me a special gift, he went to Israel and stayed there for a month, he just back at home last week and give me a red thread , while he was tying the red thread  in my left hand, he told me a story about it  “I took this red thread from the Rachel’s Tomb , you have to ask for seven wishes while I do seven knots” – he said.

After 5 months of NATO's bombing of military personnel and civilians in Libya, the Libyan government has today struck back as promised by detonating a sizable bomb in Oslo, Norway, between the Oil Ministry and a government building housing the prime minister, presumably regarded as a command and control centre. Norway is a member of NATO and has been actively participating in the NATO campaign against Libya. Like most of the other participants, Norway has major interests in the oil industry.
