Love Ladder...7

Welcome to Chongqing and visit the love ladder

This touching and uplifting story of the couple who lived happily in a cave for fifty years after they ran off together due to criticism from their family and community is a true story.

His name is Liu Guojiang[刘国江]while her name is Xu Chaoqing[徐朝清]. He was born in 1930s in Chongqing, China and died in 2007. The cave the couple eloped to and lived in is in Jiangjin County, Southern ChongQing Municipality.

Liu Guojiang carved over 6000 steps up the mountainside to make access to the cave easier for his wife from a young man to an old grandma. Their love story was chosen among China's top ten love stories in a competition organized by the Chinese Women Weekly. The local government has decided to preserve the love ladder and the place they lived as a museum, so this love story can live forever.

You are welcome to visit the great Love Ladder ;-)

  • Well done, lil bro. I think they are right.

  • Lil bro, the reason that they lived in the cave is they didnt want to live under people's gossip and pressure. They eloped to protect their love. they ran off together due to criticism from their family and community.

  • In my point of veiw.... we can say..Cave homes are secure,

and they take up little surface space,

leaving lots of room for gardens or large yards.

    few construction materials are needed.

    (correct please)

  • what is the benefits of living in the cave? its my very old question to myself, could you tell me?          ⊱ Mickey ⊰ Sis!!!

  • I know that programme and I like it, Expector!

Me too, I was deep moved on hearing the story!

  • Thanks, sis sewar. Welcome to Chongqing and have a look at the love ladder.

  • So, it seems I already heard the news, and I still remember I was moved so much when I first heard it. I didn't know they had a cave, though.

Do you know there is a TV programme called "China is moved"?

  •          Sweety, the thing that's important to know is that; you always be sincere, even if you don't mean it. 2388211241?profile=original
