Hello, my name is Sohail Noor but most people call me SONO. I was born on Feb 10, 1990. I live in Afghanistan, with my big family. I live with my mother and other relatives (grand mom, uncle, aunt ...).
I don't have any brothers or sisters so that's a bit boring sometimes but I am not sad about it because I'm not that kind of person. I'm an active, easy-going and talkative person and I love to talk with new people.
I am self-confident. That's why i think i different from other students, but so

1. Don't judge people on the way they look
As we were kids, my mother always told us not to trust people's appearance. And to help us to understand what she was meaning, she told us the story of an old man she knew who looked and lived as a tramp but in whose house his family found millions after his death.
2. Never wast food
My mother was quite strict and when my 5 brothers and sisters and I were sitting around the table for the meal, we had some rules to follow. one of them was to empty our plat
As you all know by now, Steve Jobs died on October 5th at the age of 56. I learned the sad news last night. I was walking in a charity event for cancer with my family in Toronto. We were walking in memory of my mom who died at the age of 51. Thousands of people were holding red balloons that lit up the night sky. As we walked past the cancer hospital where my mom spent many days before she died, a girl with a blue Cancer Survivor T-shirt looked at her iPhone and gasped. I turned around and hear

1) Open a new blog post.
2) Post two photos that have some similarities. (your own photos please)

4) Write a few questions for your visitors.

Did you know that today, September 21, is International Day of Peace? Some people call it Peace Day. It's wonderful that a club like MyEC has people from so many countries. There are sometimes arguments about race, religion or politics in the chat room, but for the most part MyEC is a very peaceful place. I have learned so much about different countries from all of you!
Another thing I love about MyEC is hearing the different English accents from all over the world. Many of you have tried using

It was unbelievable as I thought. It was like an action movie being commercially aired. The reporter kept on narrating the news and as I observed, all people on the bus were sho

Everyone is welcome! Hope to hear from you.

9/11 attacks - 10 years on.
This 10th anniversary brings back a lot of memories.
That 9/11/01 was supposed to be a great day as one of my friend and I had planned to go to Germany to spend a relaxing day.
So we headed to Aachen in the early morning and we spent the first hours of the day visiting the city. It was a beautiful fall day and the leaves on the trees were already turning yellow and red, the weather was warm and that special autumn smell was in the air. We
This month we are going to write about September 11th. As you know, the tenth anniversary is coming up on Sunday.
MyEC is a great place to share our feelings about September 11th because our members are from all over the world. A member from India will have a different memory than a member from North America. We all bring a different perspective to this historic event. Some of you may have been too young to remember the event, and will have different views about it than those who watched it on
Hello guys,
Doing some researches, I saw a very long word in English on the Internet and had the curiosity of asking if you know a longer one. Here it comes... Neuropsychopharmacology. Really long, uh?
So, have you ever seen a word like this in English? If so, I would love to read it! Share it with us!
Take care,
Joyce.

I found this list on www.world-english.org i thought that it could interest some members here. All the words aren't new for me, but I had never heard those like "alacrity, arcane, brazen, demure"...
I was surprised to see that some French words as "avarice" and "brusque" are also used in english with the same meaning and that many other have french roots. Amazing !!!
