Writing Challenge: Write 2 Connect

How does writing on MyEC help you to  connect with people?

First, I have to say that my particular  finding of writing as a delightful way to learn and connect to other people from all around the world is a  recent find, because for anyone who wants to write nicely it's demanding it has a satisfactory reading level, what I  really didn't have sometime ago. How can we intend to write something if we have nothing in mind to base on? For me, It's just unthinkable you write with no reading background. Therefore, if you don't found out the reading pleasure in your routine yet, I advise you to start seeking for it right now. I swear you It'll worth finding it at the end if you devote yourself!

I think through writing activities besides we  express our  viewpoints about certain subject, we can  both receive complements to our opinions as well as  integrate the other's worldview. It's a give and take experience!

Since I started writing in MyEC blog I noticed how important is the relationship between the members in favour of an effective progress, a productive  learning journey. Corrections, suggestions, likes and compliments are indeed great parameters for who is learning alone like me, so that I can know I'm on the right way to a good speaking or writing in the target language. So folks, I do hope also a lot of comments of you to come in all my upcoming posts. As a matter of fact, I need assessments  to identify my weak and my strong points.

From the  great experiences I had and keep on having here , I'd feature the EC Virtual Classroom  ,place where tacher Hala J. M   could support me in some grammatical lessons placed there with her valuable corrections and punctuations at the end of each lesson, the phonetic lessons by teacher Gabriel who made me start seeking to learn the "tricky" phonetic symbols and the most important, he made me begin enjoying learn them by vocalizing the phonems in some of his exercises. I have to confess the phonetic lessons  of teacher Gabriel are an excellent bottom line to beginners  come into the world of English phonology. His lessons really helped me to put in mind the English word's sounds in a very organised way to remember. After all, Gabriel is a dynamic online teacher! Lastly, I cannot let to mention one of the most creative site's admnistrators teacher Tara Benwell who her rich  activity proposals makes me develop writing and critical sense  in a foreign language through the section "Listen To News ", answering some discussion questions.

Writing in MyEC is a multi-faceted activity, because makes you know other people to share your thoughts, learn grammar lessons, rating and be rated in exercises, thus forming  a rewarding way of  connecting people .

Note: Let me know what  you think about my text, dropping some lines. Thank you all!

  • thank you Daniel,

    each to his own;

I 've taught a great deal including on the club.
I just sort out my texts and topics.
I regret not having the permission of participating on the teacher's forum.
However I may read their posts so this is better than nothing.

I hope novices will make out all right too.
It is a never ending learning anyway. A bottomless pit actually.
when you are introduced to any foreign language
there is a way to do.

For my part, I'm determined to carry on regardless. are you?

you'll benefit fellow ec members from knowing English.
    It's worth it.
Manage to get past, further than one's own possibilities
to get rid of one's frustration is not an easy task but a so great experience.

I envision to catch up you teacher. Consider it as a compliment.
Lot of issues to tackle of course but

when there is a will there is a way .
it's not nearly as difficult as I thought.
That's half the battle after less three years, is it teacher?

    Thank you for greetings.
happy practicing of English and follow my way my friends
    you'll not regret it.

  • Thanks Christian,  I have enjoyed your wise words. It's so truly the saying you mention: "no pain no gain"  when it comes to the language learning. Cheers!

  • how do you do teacher?

I like reading and writing in English so much that I would even say that
my fingers are like electrified and strum on my keyboard.
    I'm likely addicted to.
I look for some blogs being written in a proper English
    what does not teeming ultimately.

They say that I get on OK with the international language.
    Did you know?
I got congratulation from two esl teachers whose one whom joined me
    on 'Skype'.
'I'm very impressed so don't give up' he said.

OK, anyway, in the end to get down to the nitty-gritty I'll say
who I'm going to write with?
My friendlist is increasing day by day since my subscription
as ec member yet none of them matches.
    To my mind,
a gritty determination is required to make your learning English a success, you know?
    Alas I noticed some issues
    1) topic 2) regularity 3) work 4) difference of levels and texts on blogs remaining uncorrected.
    Do you get my drift?

Whether you get acquainted or not you'll never get any e-mail.
Whether your texts are full of mistakes or not this is the same.
It is nonetheless true that I took some opportunities to improve my English.

    you must face facts
t's not nearly as difficult as it 's thought however it demands motivation to practise.
It required corrections from either by confirmed members or teachers.
I expect you to wake up an overhall awareness will you?!
    no pain no gain/
Thank you ever so much for letting me to drop those lines.
    all the best.

  •  Thanks a lot teacher!

  • @Daniel

Great! You discovered the main error and found the expression you were looking for. You should be very proud of yourself!

How can we intend to write something if we have nothing in mind to base it on?

Tip: I would remove "intend to" because it's not necessary. Here is a great article about "Plain Language". Scroll down to the definition: What is Plain Language? As you will see, it's best to keep your writing as plain and simple as possible.

  •  Hi teacher Tara, in the sentence "How can we... if we don't have nothing in mind to ground?" I've wanted to say in a right way " How can we... If we have nothing in mind to base on?" Can I rewrite this sentence like that? Is it right? Do you understand it now? I think my unnoticed mistake was admit the double negative in the same sentence, what is strictly prohibited in the English grammar and the usage of the verb "to ground" for the sense which I have wanted to pass on the context, the sense of something to consolidate your writing skills - the reading skills. I await for your answers teacher.

  • Hi Daniel,

You have written some excellent advice about reading and writing. It is so true that learners must concentrate on reading if they want to become better writers. The same goes for speaking. I always tell learners that they MUST listen to English as often as they can. This is how babies learn to speak, and this is the best way to pick up a new language. Listen to English and read English as often as you can!

Re corrections: Can you spot a common error in this sentence? Also, I'm not sure about the usage of "to ground". What do you mean by that?

"How can we intend to write something if we don't have nothing in mind to ground?
