BOOKS, My First Love!

Last week I went to the books market to buy some books. I bought Jameel-Uddin-Aali's "Aadmi". I already have his "Urmghan-e-Aali". I also bought Dan Brown's Inferno in spite I have already read this book. I already have his "Deception Point" Angels and Demons, The Digital Fortress, The Davinci Code (Special illustrated Collector’s Edition), Lost Symbol. I already have the seven books of Harry Potter though this fancy seems to be for children, but it has fascinated the grownups, too. I am very fo

Yes, you got it! It's an idiom meaning 'now is a good time to do something'.

Some members here, including me, were having trouble accessing MyEC the other day. Some of them may have taken an easily accessible MyEC for granted until they experienced the connecting problem. Now, thankfully, everything seems to have been back to normal here on MyEC. It feels so wonderful that we can get in to and enjoy MyEC again.

What I'm saying is we should make good use of MyEC. You could post a blog, leave a comm

Don't let your hope die

No matter how desperately down you are, no matter how grey is your each and every day, no matter how many sleepless and stressful nights you went through or how much you regret....just… don't let your hope die. Once you burry your hope, you burry your soul and alive body with dead soul is in fact - dead YOU.

At times it might be hard to keep your hope up and of course it is easier to give up on everything, to immerse yourself somewhere down into the bottom of all the worst experiences, to lock yo

English, perhaps like every other language, has many words with identical or similar meanings. They are called synonyms.

Think of the words, approximately and about. As synonyms, you can choose either word in most cases, so my advice is to choose the simpler of the two.

Here is an example paragraph of simple words (in brackets) that could be used instead.

There are numerous (many) words that are synonyms and often you can choose the simple (easy) word over the complex (harder) word. Doing this help

Writing Challenge: Mother

All relationships you maintain go under a contract. If your friend does a favor to you, he may expect a favor from you when he is in trouble. Relationship builds up with wife though a written contract. All though our life, such relationships are fostered under contract. Some contracts are clearly written and some are not. To have a successfull relationship, we have to abide by rules that we bear in our mind, or write on the paper. There is one relationship in this world that doesn't care for any

Writing Challenge: Mothers

To become a mom is the best feeling ever. Nine months of suffering were worth it! The morning sickness, pain in the womb, dizzy feeling, mood swing, peeing at night at least twice, heartburn, feeling like big elephant, whose movement is at the end of the pregnancy kind of weird etc. are the things that can hardly make me say:

"Ohhhhhh yeahhh, I enjoyed my pregnancy!" Sincerely, my dear friends, I didn't apart from feeling moves of my baby, which gave me energy.

However,  after process of torturin

Writing Challenge: Mother

" Mother" means a lot to most of the people around the globe. I am also in that group. Though, I am not sure whether I would be able to write down something on this topic or not. Because, there is every reason to be emotional!

Okay, It would be fine, If I try to figure out how my Amma helped me to be a big girl. In true sense, she was very strict and forthright. She used to scold me as well as love me. But, she was not like me!

Yes, she was not like me. She was a brave mother. She did her best to

This writing challenge reminds me of my mother who lives far from where I live. While I was trying to write something about my mother, this question came to my mind: Do all mothers deserve a hug? Don't get me wrong - I love my mother, and in fact, I just phoned her to see if she's happy about the May Day celebration. I'm not crazy or insane, either. While everybody seems to love their mother, there are people who don't think much of their mother. If the son/daughter is:

Wishes For My Mother

I wish you to have 20/20 vision.   It has been 30 years since you lost the sight on your left eye, it just died the doctors said, even after a cornea transplant it didn’t last long for it had exhausted itself from the nights you sit under the dull yellow light of the lamp sewing native slippers which you sell to help with our family’s expenses because dad’s salary was just not enough to feed seven children. Your world became bleak and almost formless because you always insist

Writing Challenge: Mothers

HOW I LEARNED READING:

Prior to my school age I used to ask my mother to read story books for me. My mother had just the basic knowledge of reciting Holy Quraan, she also could read small books in our native language. Once she asked me why I would not learn how to read if I was so interested in stories. Then she taught how to read Urdu, which I learned prior to going school. My mother bought the very first book of learning Urdu Alphabets, their combination in twos or more letters to make words. M

Because of My Carelessness

Last year, I got fever for a week, I vomited, I felt nausea, diarrhea, and also an extreme headache. The honey I consume as usual was run out, so I went to a doctor. She said that I got Typhus symptom, and I was given an antibiotic. The day after, I vomited all more than before. Then, I stopped consuming the antibiotic given. I remembered that I ever had been given antibiotic but I didn't consume all. My headache was relieved of the pain a little. But, three days later, my eyes were yellowish. I
