Yes, you're quite right, the two words (besides and except) are often confused - 'besides' means 'in addition to' or 'as well as', while 'except' means 'not including'.

As long as it doesn't involve actual Vandals defiling the streets with their brainy quotes which, by the way, are often full of misspelled words (yup, I stop and read them.
