GRATITUDE, APOLOGY, and COMPLIMENT

Let's keep striking while the iron is hot! Due to the connection problem of MyEC these days, I will try to write more.... I hope you, too, friends. Don't let MyEC go down because of our absence. :))) :D

Once ever had my great friend said that there were three things that made a friendship would last long. They were Gratitude, Apology, and Compliment. I remember this a lot until now and as I observed in my opinion it is true. Not only a friendship, but also all kinds of relationship, such as family, colleague, schoolmates, or neighbors need these three things. Let me share my brief thoughts about it.

GRATITUDE is a feeling or attitude of acknowledgment when someone get a benefit. We usually say 'thank you', 'I'm grateful', 'I can't thank you enough', and so on. This is a very common thing that most people may never leave the day without saying these words, sincere or not. LOL. In my opinion, expressing gratitude is very important to appreciate and acknowledge the existence of people around us. It shows that we are social creature which one needs another. However, most of us often forgot to say thanks to our family or someone who are very close to us. Have you thanked to your parents, brothers, sisters or your spouse today? :)

APOLOGY is an expression of remorse, wiki. We ordinarily say 'I'm sorry', 'please forgive me', 'I apologise for...', and so on. To err is human nature. But, in this world, why do people tend to be hard to express an apology? Although someone has enough remorse of their mistakes, it is somehow hard to say those words. This is especially when the elder make mistakes to the younger. Let's see the kids nowadays. After quarreling, they are averse to make an apology. But if we give them a good understanding, just see how it will be useful for their future character. This should be a big task for the older to guide them well. We shouldn't forget that a big heart is needed to really forgive a person. :) Come back to when you feel guilty, is it too hard to say I'm sorry?? (I'm not singing :D) The problem is when we never feel guilty. :D :D

COMPLIMENT is an expression of praise, congratulation or encouragement, wiki. We hear many people say 'Congratulations', 'Awesome', 'Exceptional', 'Beautiful', and so on. Those words somehow encourage the person who are being complimented to be more confident or something else. However, don't let ourselves expecting high compliments unless we want get hurt if no body does it. You might hear some people got stressed by not getting likes on Facebook. You might hear parents were badly disappointed with the school report of their children. The worse thing I could hear was some people (especially celebrities) in some countries committed suicide just for a shamelessness of being failed to get compliments. According to me, the compliments will be a special gift for us if we never expect it. We need to compliment our friends, but remember to be sincere and never be exaggerating unless you're just kidding with your (close) friends. :)

Let's imagine how our world would be if we did these three things sincerely to the people around us.. :)

  • Dear Onee, indeed you are right. By being grateful we actually show our love, by apologizing we indicate that we care about them and we don't want to bother them on purpose, by praising them ae actually encourage then to do their best and we tell them that how amazing they are. Do these three convey anything but love? Your writing is great, thanks for sharing.
  • Arif brother, I mean my senior in my real life. You are my brother. :)

It's true that having one sincere friend is a happiness and more than enough. But, having many friends in various of types will really teach us something. Furthermore, having many friends can ignore a person to have a narrow mind. That's what I believe. :)

Thank you so much once again for your reply. :)
