While you're reading a history article, the only thing that can help you to picture a certain historic scenario is your imagination. But if there's a photo in there, your situation is totally different. It shows you how something actually looked, it helps you understand that specific moment more intimately. Be it a historical landmark, a famous person or random photo of the past - they all have amazing stories behind them. And some of 'em haunt you forever.
I'm pretty sure most of you've seen Alfred Eisenstaedt's photograph of an American sailor kissing a woman in Times Square. It most definitely became the symbol of the joy and excitement at the end of World War II.

Dear Diary,
Is it possible to murder A738a with a good intention >_<
Sincerely %#)#@!?!
A738a is mean to me.
Wah! Wah! Wah!
Sincerely Love,
AG
That's too mean...
Good. Let's keep it that way.
Oh My God..
believe me I have no intention to mess up again with you :|
I still remember this :|
Right...
I don't trust that ''lol'', AG.
#suspicious look
Thanks for interpreting them from your point of view, MARY.
lol, Of course, not..
I meant, just the pics are the most outstanding and distinctive part about your blogs :)
Great pictures! I didn't know many of them...
I always liked the one of the sailor kissing a woman, it shows in a very 'special' way the joy of the moment :D
The one of the astronaut... ugh! it leaves you speachless...
The public execution by guillotine in 1939! That was just few decades ago... But it's even more crazy that the last execution by guillotine (not public, in a French prison) was in 1970! This shows how unfortunatelly, it takes lot of time to change some crazy things and people's minds.
But the one I like the most and I hadn't seen before is the black woman attending a "white" school... it's an A M A Z I N G snapshot. The stupid white guys laughing behind her and the poor woman wishing that stupidity and bigotry could be painful...
Pictures worth a thousand words. Thanks for sharing!!
