How to Carve a Pumpkin (audio)

2346307756?profile=originalLast year on EnglishClub.com we added a lesson on How to Carve a Pumpkin. This year, I recorded an audio track for it. But, be careful...this is not my usual voice.

1. Listen to the recording without the text. (Make sure to turn up your volume to full blast.)

2. Try to catch the gist. What on earth am I saying?

3. Listen again while reading the 10 Easy Steps. (This is a useful activity. Many English speakers do not annunciate as clearly as English teachers.)

4. If you have a mobile device from App

Learn English with Angry Birds

Do you know the game Angry Birds? This is a popular game for mobile devices that was introduced in 2009. Millions of copies have been sold. In the game, players use a slingshot to shoot wingless birds at annoying pigs. The pigs sit on various structures and pyramids. The noises the pigs make drive people up the wall. This is why you want to destroy them! If you haven't played Angry Birds yet, don't! This game is addictive.

Today I came across this funny video inspired by the Angry birds game. The

My Introdution myself

2346296718?profile=original

Hello, my name is Sohail Noor but most people call me SONO. I was born on Feb 10, 1990. I live in Afghanistan, with my big family. I live with my mother and other relatives (grand mom, uncle, aunt ...).

I don't have any brothers or sisters so that's a bit boring sometimes but I am not sad about it because I'm not that kind of person. I'm an active, easy-going and talkative person and I love to talk with new people.

I am self-confident. That's why i think i different from other students, but so

1. Don't judge people on the way they look

As we were kids, my mother always told us not to trust people's appearance. And to help us to understand what she was meaning, she told us the story of an old man she knew who looked and lived as a tramp but in whose house his family found millions after his death.

2. Never wast food

My mother was quite strict and when my 5 brothers and sisters and I were sitting around the table for the meal, we had some rules to follow. one of them was to empty our plat

2346294435?profile=originalAs you all know by now, Steve Jobs died on October 5th at the age of 56. I learned the sad news last night.  I was walking in a charity event for cancer with my family in Toronto. We were walking in memory of my mom who died at the age of 51. Thousands of people were holding red balloons that lit up the night sky. As we walked past the cancer hospital where my mom spent many days before she died, a girl with a blue Cancer Survivor T-shirt looked at her iPhone and gasped. I turned around and hear

Hello my friends!

When passing by your precious blogs and discussions, I sometimes come across some mistakes: grammatical, spelling and others concerning structure and punctuation. Every time that happens, I feel like I need to correct them; howerver, I hold myself back and say," What if my correction hurts the feelings of the person in question; what if that person feels like his/her English is not good and stops writing again." To be honest with you, I won't be able to live with this burden. As

I wake up early in the morning, to catch my flight 7.10am. The Taxi driver send me sms that he will come 10 minutes late. I replied him that's ok, meanwhile I take a bath. Make a taxi booking in advance is really helpful.

Of course, there's additional charge for the advance booking service, but it's more convenience than stopping taxi on the street.

"Sir, I'm already in the lobby" , a sms text from taxi driver. After take my warm apple tea , grab my back pack then lock th

Share a Quote for Peace

2346288834?profile=originalDid you know that today, September 21, is International Day of Peace? Some people call it Peace Day. It's wonderful that a club like MyEC has people from so many countries. There are sometimes arguments about race, religion or politics in the chat room, but for the most part MyEC is a very peaceful place. I have learned so much about different countries from all of you!

Another thing I love about MyEC is hearing the different English accents from all over the world. Many of you have tried using

It was a beautiful Thursday evening in Manila, Philippines. On that day, I was traveling on a bus on my way home together with my family. My sister and I were chatting about the things we accomplished. The bus driver turned on the TV and switch to a news channel. I remember how the first tower was hit by an airplane. It was unbelievable as I thought. It was like an action movie being commercially aired. The reporter kept on narrating the news and as I observed, all people on the bus were sho

RISK

If you have your CHANCE now, take it.

If you want something, nothing can STOP you.

Don't leave your life to FATE and DESTINY.

It is always your CHOICE. Take CHARGE.

Do what you can now. Do what makes you HAPPY.

If you get beaten, then you'll know it wasn't for you.

At least there won't be regrets. There's always a RISK. But not taking that RISK is an even bigger RISK.Have a nice day my English club^_^
