Hello, Yoh!
You asked me a difficult question about Russian Independence Day!
It's one of the newest holidays in history of Russia. Most Russian people couldn't anwer this questions. There isn't a history event connected with this holiday. The holiday was adopted soon after the collapce of the USSR. I think, it was needed to unite the nation.
Most people consider this day like a day of rest. They go to the country or work in the garden. The fireworks and grate selebrations are only in big cities. In our town everything is very unassumingly.
Have a nice day!
Hi Yoh,
Thank you for your peachy comments!
I send you a photo of a town where I used to live - the suburb of St. Petersburg - Pushkin, called Tsarskoye Selo (Tsar village) in the past.

Hello, Yoh!
Happy Independence Day!
Yoh, thank you for your comment! :-))) About Russian's Independence Day! It's a good question! I would say - difficult! I'll think and answer later! :-)))
Hello Yoh! The most beautiful time in Riga is the beginning of summer, when chestnuts and lilac are blossoming and smelling. The leaves of the trees are fresh green without any dust yet. And at nice green suburbs of Riga you can even hear the nightingale! Welcome! Inta.
