When I first started my secondary school, I used to borrow English story books from the library. On the way home, in the school bus, I took out and read it. As I recall, I was not really reading it, not to mention that I did not even understand it.
English is not the language that can be tracked by translation. However, practicing it in four different common ways is the core point. Listening is the most distinct one amongst all. So while speaking, non native speaker think a lot of their own language, and this without doubt make English very tough and kind of hardship to be properly spoken. To my husband’s credit, I watch a lot of movies and documentaries mostly in English for the past 2 years. It has become our habit to watch 3 to 4 movies everyday. These 2 days we have been watching Granada Television’s 7 Up Series broadcasted by BBC. It has eight episodes spanning 49 years. It’s a very interesting documentary about the lives of 14 British children since 1964, when they were 7 years old. I am sure some of you are aware of this documentary.
