Last weekend, I’ve been to our Dubai’s villa to help people prepare some meals for Sharjah villa’s residents. That was my second time to visit the place, the first time was only for a couple of hours that’s why I lose the opportunity to navigate and check the area. Last Friday, I’m trying to familiarize all corners, luckily unlike the previous that happened during night time, this time was a morning tour. Great! I’ve had a chance for a clear ocular inspection. Haha! I’d noticed a very wide garag

TOEFL Tips for Students That Work

The TOEFL, or Test of English as a Foreign Language, is the access route for non-native speakers to an English-speaking university. The test may also be accepted as proof of English knowledge when applying to live and work in another country. It may be offered in a paper format, but is more commonly taken via the internet. Scoring high marks in the test is important, as your university place depends on a satisfactory result. So the pressure is on, and adequate preparation is essential. But what

You have to say goodbye to 2016, whether you enjoyed it or not - the year 2016 may be so eventful, unforgetable, impressive or so boring or dull for you.  Also, you've spent another year here on MyEC and I hope you enjoyed every minute of your stay.

Don't let any year go without saying anything about it. I assume you must have something to share about MyEC in 20

Niv Bavarsky has decided to summarize the events of 2016 in a drawing which is kinda like the updated version of Hieronymus Bosch’s The Garden of Earthly Delights. The heartbreaking tragedies (there were too many, actually: The loss of quite a lot of old souls), some memes (yup, you heard me) which really stood up, sports, cultural and political (duh!) events are all in there.

Look at it and try to remember the good stuff.

I can't believe I just said that.  The. Freakin'. Good. Stuff.

2347360643?profile=originalHi, my friends! As I will not be able to enter EC during a few next days, I'd like to post this blog today hoping that some of you will have a free minute to read it.

Well, tomorrow is Christmas Eve, the night of miracles, magic, goodness, love, hope and much more. Being non-religious, I love Xmas, one of the brightest, happiest holidays in our Western world. These days make me recall my teenagehood, my youth and this blog is going to be a kind of Christmas/New Year joke. I'd like to give some re

I have been always sticked to this question asking about how to get the hang of grammar rules. In fact, most of us don't know the truth that native speakers don't much care of grammar rules while speaking. A native English speaker once said to me " If you think about grammar when you speak, you are lost".  Do you think he is right? What did he really mean?

Let us together find out!

A winter fairy tale (by Rose)

A winter fairy tale

Once upon a time, at a cold winter night, someone knocked on the door of an old wooden house near the forest.

In the house lived an old couple with their dog and a speaking parrot. They both were hard of hearing, so they did not notice that someone was knocking. Only the parrot heard it and immediately started to raise its voice like an alarm bell.

Why is someone ringing the doorbell so vehemently? the man muttered while getting up. Now he heard the knocking on the door and o

Unpresidented or unprecedented?

Yes, it must be a typo or careless mistake - it should be 'unprecedented'.

English words can be so confusing - it's not uncommon for you to spell a word wrong/wrongly, no matter whether you're a learner of English or the presiden elect of the United States.

There are only 26 letters in English, but a million English words - a word is just a combination of English letters. So, no wonder there are so many confusing words - they look alike and/or sound similar. How about 'ethic or ethnic', 'stationa

TIME BOMB

One of the bombs is called "Time Bomb." A watch or an instrument is installed in it giving it a time limit for a few minutes, hours or days. At the fixed time, two wires touch each other, the bombs explodes and ends up. Allah has also installed in man a watch and an instrument with a few minutes, a few hours,' a few months or a few years limit. When the fixed time approaches, the pin of the box that controls the body is removed and the story ends. Now, no delay for a moment is granted to man to
