Here in my country some people are trying to travel to exotic countries. Because those countries attract them with lots of the interesting, unknown or unexpected things. People dream about those countries and think that it is a paradise to live there.

But often they get disappointed because of their zeal to get everything at the same time. They are eager to try, taste and experience everything new. Sometimes it is really useful, sometimes it is interesting and joyful, but sometimes it is even dan

Word of the Year

Aloha there.

Here I come with my last blog... The last of this year, at least.
As every year, I'm always curious about which words are considered the most popular ones, taking in mind some events of the year. So, there it goes:

Oxford Word of the Year (2017)

Youthquake.
"A significant cultural, political, or social change arising from the actions or influence of young people".

A very silly word for what it could be something cool... but that is usually reduced to do an idiotic viral challenge.

Trippin' on buttons

Sheila's baby is cute as a button. I just wanna eat 'im up.

If Ian just keeps pushing my buttons, I'll Grrrrr... [a torrent of profanity ensues]

Button it, Vinny. No one cares 'bout what ya think.

Violet's got luscious hair, a button nose and an A4 waist. But she can't stand the poor. They weird 'er out. I guess ya can say she's the real deal. Very beautiful... on the outside.

Joe's bright as a button. He'll figure it out.

I used to collect buttons. Then I grew up and realized I've gotta choose a sha

Vocablog Challenge 04

Hey there,

Let's learn two more words before the year ends.

Exotic: Adjective: Something is exotic because it is attractive due to being out of ordinary or colorful. Like these are exotic birds..

exotic-birds-images.jpg?width=500

Zeal: Noun: Great energy or enthusiasm for something.

Example: I can only blame the zeal for travelling for my low savings but I feel it is worth for the life saving vivid memories than money.

Happy learning and

Have a happy new year!!

One night, many years ago, when I was ill with flu and was turning from side to side unable to fall asleep.

I don't remember that night clearly, but I just know that I saw one unknown woman in my room. She touched my shoulder like my mom does, smiled and said sleep. And when I closed my eyes she disappeared.

On the next day I told about that to my mom and she was shoked. Because nobody entered to my room that night. Now I realize that probably it was hallucination or just a dream. But I am not exa

Vocablog Challenge 03

So exams are over and I can continue the challenge!

Hope you remember that you don't have to stress on writing a Shakespearean piece, just a few lines are enough to practice new words. Just use then in context and try to remember ..

Here are the words:

Hallucination:  (Noun) : So tell me if you have seen something that does not actually exist or not really in front of you... and you are not dreaming as well, yes you are awake and you are hearing voices that are in your head.... ever happened? if th

THUNDER

I wrote this blog sometime in 2014.

Last night it was raining.  The sky was getting illuminated intermittent lightening. Power was fluctuating, and finally, it was gone and I got dc (disconnected) from my friend on the net. I left the table with an inner gloom and went to the balcony. It was raining heavily with thunder. I let the downpour come upon my body just to try to wash off all the fatigue of the day. There was darkness outside, just the rays of a few emergency lights peeping through the

Sound of the four seasons in Japan

Japanese people hear characteristic sounds every season.

In spring, we hear the songs which birds sing in the early morning as if they are delighted at coming of spring. Most creatures seem to welcome the coming of spring.

In summer, we can hear the sound of cicadas chirping. They are very loud, but the sound from a distance have a good taste for me. A famous Japanese haiku poet wrote a poem , it's「閑けさや 岩に染み入る 蝉の声」. I think in English it can be translated as 「The calmness, it is merging into the r

Look down at your belly: What do you see? Yes, it's your navel. Let's contemplate it!

WEEKEND DIALOG with A FRIEND

ME: I can't take it anymore. I know I still have many things to do. But just today, let me rest my brain.

FRIEND: What?? NO!!! You don't need to do that. If you feel that dizzy, you could remove your head and put it on the table. When you feel any better, you can reset it again.

ME: I can't believe that you'd have such a great advice. But please, excuse your stupid unconscious friend! Can you help me do that?

FRIEND: Of course. You can have a rest here in your comfortabl

Once, while feeding the goats in the forest, I met a woman. She was the weirdest creature I ever saw. And if you think that I am exaggerating, she had a shoe in one leg and another leg was bare!

And as I was afraid to talk to her, she came and said, "Hi, I am an alien unconscious woman! My shuttle broke down, so now I have to be going here and there for food, on this planet, until I will be able to go back to my home-planet." I said, "Wow! Nice to meet you!"

I lead the goats to home and returned b

As yesterday was Friday I decided to enjoy my life little bit and went to the bar with my friends. We were drinking, dancing and had great fun. Anyway, later I felt a bit drunk and weird as if somebody put drugs in my drink. Oh nooo my drink was spiked! My legs were so weak,  my arms became so numb that I dropped them on the floor. What the hell was this? My friends were just laughing like insane and put them better in the plastic bag - just in case I would need them one day again. When the barm

Worries about a friend.

Some days ago, I was reading a book when a friend called me up via Skype.

My friend is a Canadian, He's a forty-five years old man with German roots from his grandparents. I know, he misses Germany because he hadn't been here for many years. He has still relatives in Germany. He told me to come in the next spring when Germany is more beautiful than in other seasons of the year.

My friend is a musician and poet. He writes and composes the own songs. Playing the guitar and singing is his life.
Somet

Hi, ladies and gentlemen! Here is the breaking news on our EC channel! Stay with us!

After returning to EC megalopolis, one of our favorite teachers suddenly changed his traditional orientation and started going nuts! His traditional learning blogs about idioms, phrasal verbs and grammar have been replaced by his sarcastic blogs deriding learners’ mistakes. He must have rested his brains somewhere in the jungle of the blunders he faces every day! He writes down all your mistakes in a long hand on

Some things just happen...

Some things just happen. Life doesn't ask us, what we want because life actually doesn't care. What counts is our attitude and decissions we make. They are like a huge arrow, which shows us the direction. No matter if we choose easy or complicated way - eventually we end up somewhere. All the slaps and backstabs are without doubt painful but after all... going through the burning hell makes us much more resistant. Unscounsciously we push ourself one level higher because we all long for being our

MEGAEC City had been covered by a huge wave of atrocities this weekend. Many dead discussions were dug from the discussion cemetery. Many people were stressed out because their mistakes had been pointed in a rude way. Panic began in the city. Many reports were written to the police department. That is why Special Agent Roman Squirrel (not clumsy one) had been appointed in order to investigate this case.

The traces of a cat claws were spotted at the crime scenes. Also some parts of the black hair

Weather Forecast

This is in response to Onee's Writing Challenge "A News Report"

WEATHER FORECAST

Here is the forecast for next 24 hours.

This is not good news for those who are planning ‘dating’.  The weather will be pretty stormy, so the indoor dating will be too crowded for those who have some secret planning for their partners.  Outside in daytime, the weather will be pretty hot, may affect the temperature of the caring parent for their daughters, so I have to warn all the boys to be careful with their girlfri

Writing Challenge: A News Report

Breaking news!

Two robbers were arrested a while before. At this moment they are in the police station of the town where they are being interrogated. Earlier in the day, a bank was robbed by them. The amount that was grabbed under the gun threat was large. There were three other robbers who managed to get away with a car which some days ago had been reported to the police as stolen. They were prosecuted by the police but so far nothing has been announced and it is believed to have escaped. As has
