The idiom 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder' means people don't always see eye to eye. That's to say something that you think is beautiful may not be regarded or considered to be beautiful by others.

For example, many of us may have enjoyed the June blogathon (last month's writing challenge), while some may think it's pointless or meaningless to write so many blogs in such a short period of time.

Some people may enjoy something which is readable or reader friendly or easy to read, while some

He isn't a prince, nor he is a an evil man, yet he is a simple man.Now the story :Joha bought a donkey to ride upon to travel everywhere he wants. One day, he rode uponthe donkey, and his son walked beside the donkey , holding some reins with him. When they passed a small group of people. The people criticis

They need opportunity

Recently I have observed a new perspective in movies. It was always like there were some nice people against those who were the bad guys.  The good ones were always good and the bad ones were always bad. It was like they were born to be villain. The new perspective in movies tries to see positive and negative features in villains. They would act so differently if they had a chance; I meant the chance of being good. When the villains are not blamed for everything wrong, when they are treated well

V is for Varoufakis!

The Greeks surprised the European polibureaucracy in Brussels by letting the people speak—an outrageous dose of democracy from a country said to have been its birthplace! And the (now ex-) Finance Minister of Greece was largely to be thanked for it, much to the annoyance of the European elites who are trying to bail out the bankstersThis article shows Varoufakis in an unusual and amusing light:

Does Valentine Day still matter to me?  I'm not sure how to answer this.

There's no one special to spend this day with.  I'm now single.  A widow.

But, somehow, I'm still tickled when February comes.  The many commercial advertisements tickled me.  Why?  Because, there many novelties now to receive and  to give gift to.  The new flower arrangements tickled my heart and longing come again. The old songs and music bring romantic memories alive again.  The mouth watering chocolate candies just irresi

Word Play : Idioms on "take"

Take the plunge if you take a fancy on something,

take off and  take stock in your gifts, take heed so you won’t be taken for a ride

if  things take a turn for the worst, take the bull by the horns and take it on the chin

Take heart for soon luck will take a hint and take the edge off your problems

Once in a while take a backseat and take things in stride

and when the time is ripe...

take the world by storm... then... take a bow!

Meaning:  Take the plunge: to do something decisive

WALKER'S WRITING CHALLENGE: MYSELF

Before I get started, let me begin by saying how good it is to once again have the time to chat and post with my good friends here. EC has always been a great source of personal inspiration. The chance to watch and experience new learners grow into linguistic proficiency is amazing and something I wish more of my fellow countrymen would take the time to do.

Here's ten things in no particular order that come to mind when thinking of MYSELF. The subject matter may vary from personal philosophy to m

Moving House

Moving or "Moving House" is something that many people do in their lifetime. I know many people are born and die in the same house, but in the modern world we may have to move for our jobs or to be near family members who moved.

I have moved many times, but it never gets easier and it never is any fun. If you have had to pack up and move to a new place you may understand why I don't enjoy moving. These are some of the steps that I don't enjoy.

1. Packing - carefully putting your things in boxes an

I love walking in cool weather rather a bit cold, when cold breeze touches my face.

I love swimming and playing badminton. I can never imagine life without music. What a dull life it would be! I enjoy listening to music. I love looking at people’s faces in crowded places. I love observing young and newly married couples and to see how much love they are sharing through looking at each other. I love seeing others happiness. I love watching babies of few months old.

I love watching movies drama, com

Quantity or quality?

Yes, the amazing, strenuous June Blogathon is over. It's time we waved goodbye to it. That doesn't mean you'll never talk about it, though. In fact, we need to reflect on or ponder over it.

Some members don't think it's a good idea to write so many blogs in such a short period of time. They felt overwhelmed, and didn't have time to enjoy or relish all the blogs, which sounds just like they bit off more than they can chew. They think quality is paramount, not quantity.

Some, however, have really

Positive and negative sides

I am damn sure someone will want to strangle me after reading it, some may do agree! Well, I am going to say something about last month's writing challenge.

To begin with, I must  say  the positive sides of it.

1. This  writing challenge motivated us to write more.

2. We tried to think more, did brain storming, found various topics to write blogs.

3. After getting this challenge, we got many new bloggers who did not write before or was not more active in blogging.

4. It is unnecessary to say again th

MyEC Bloggers United

2347093651?profile=originalWe did it! Our June goal was to beat the MyEC record for most blogs posted in a single month. With all of your help, we achieved this (and so much more). The last time I checked, we had published 625 blog posts, which is double our current monthly average. That just shows you how important it is to set goals, doesn't it?

I'm so proud of everyone who participated in the June Blogathon. Some of you set individual blogging goals, too. This really impressed me. I think we must always set goals for o

Mishaikh some parts of this text are not clear to me and I think it can be written in better way but I don’t know how.   I just hope you give me some ideas.

THANKS AND TAKE CARE

(This was the request sent to me two years ago by one of my friends in Iran. Following is the re-written (by me) text which I modified for her.  It is here for the interest of English learners.  I am sure she won’t mind because at that time she was also a learner, now she has done her graduation.)

I love to …Dance! I dance when I’m cooking, I dance when I am taking a shower, I dance when I’m teaching (and my preschoolers love it and so we all dance together!) We've already crossed the finish line - we've smashed the record 580 blogs. We've set up a new record, and made history! That's incredible or unbelievable!

580 blogs a month seemed to be unobtainable or unreachable, but it turned out we mede it to more than 580 blogs. According to the statistics, we now even have reached more than 600. And, we still have one day to go until the end of this month.

Now, the hustle and bustle is subsiding. In fact, some members have started to summarize or reflect

Summarize

Hello All…

This is maybe my last blog this month. I’ve been reading a lot of wonderful blogs. They are so inspiring and giving courage. I am so grateful for this opportunity. I wasn’t very active, just wrote few blogs and dropped few comments but I do really enjoy my time here, believe me I didn’t leave any comments or clicked like because I was too amazed and exhausted to read it all. There were so many blog and I found the writers were sharing their experiences and thoughts. I should a

As part of the June Blog Challenge, Walker recommended that we write posts about ourselves. Here's my response:s

10 Random Things You Might Not Know About Me

1. I love to run! In the summer I try to jog for 30-40 minutes every other day. I don't run marathons or races, and I don't time myself. I'm not competitive at all when it comes to running. I run because it gives me energy and ideas. Some of the best ideas come to me while I'm jogging. In the winter I sometimes run around an indoor track insi
