Pope Francis, the highest leader of the Catholic Church had a rare chance to visit the Philippines last month. Many devotees eagerly waited for him in Villamor Airbase while others glued to their TV screens (I myself was included). As the aircraft taxied to the tarmac, loud screams transcended in every corner of the airport as well as during his motorcades. Prior to his visit here, he traveled to Sri Lanka where he showed solidarity to the victims of civil war.

Since I couldn't travel to Manila,

I'm blogging again because today we have a national holiday in Japan.  Today is National Day or National Foundation Day.

Some people think that the origin of National Day dates back to 1946 when the new Japanese Constitution was approved by US General Douglas MacArthur on February 11.  It was no coincidence that the Constitution was approved on this date because it had been considered to be the founding day since the first known written history and had religious and national significance.

Is hard work called success or when we got the fruit of the hardwork called success.some people puts their efforts on their work but they don't get any fruit. Hello Jack,

thank you for your last email, it was full of awesome jokes as usual. I must share something I experienced yesterday! I don't want to spread any rumours but I am still shocked! Yesterday on my way home from work near Liverpool, just few kilometres before I reached home, I had to stop my car and helped two people. They had problem with the tyre and none of them was able to deal with it. When I came closer, I realised it was my neighbour and some woman. However, it was not his wife!!! H

A:  What can I do?  My connecting flight may be gone because we landed so late.

B:  When we come into the terminal, just ask the people at the arrival gate.

A:  I don’t speak Korean and they may not understand me.

B:  No big deal, I’ll translate for you.

A:  Please tell her I’m supposed to connect to JAL-422.

B:  She says you can’t make it. They already departed the gate. So, please go to the ticket counter in the next part of the building.

A:  OK, here’s the ticket counter. How can I get to Tokyo ton

Yes, second day was exiting! I woke up hearing the chirping of unknown birds. Were they really unknown..lol they may be our sparrows! Well, Malaysia is not  so far away from us. So, there are some similarities.

After waking up, I took sometime to observe the surroundings. I pulled the curtains which were dark maroon colored. Then, looked out the balcony towards the horizon. I could see the nearest river side,  paved front road, open yard, tress, cloudless blue  sky ..beautiful!

You must have noticed the differneces between Brtitish English (BrE) and American English (AmE). They are both popular English, and Brits and Americans can understand each other very well,  but it may not be so easy for learners of English to handle the differences between the two, such as spelling or grammar differences.
