Thanks a million for your comment. So, Toronto seems to be a 100% English environment. I'm thinking of visiting it during my stay - maybe many times since it's near Montreal and I'd like to immerse myself in the 100% English for a while. And yes, it would be good to meet you and Tara in Canada.
Thanks for the tip on how to tip! We never tip here in East Asia.
By the way, I'm trying to swot up on some basic French. Maybe I can deal with a little French there - I've been to France once (on a short visit) and learned some basic French.
Thanks again for your nice comment. Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions!
It would be so good to meet EC members like you and Tara in Canada. Actually, many members suggest we meet with each other during my stay and share some photos with them. You bet I know it's not so easy for us all to meet in person, but it's possible.
By the way, how much French is spoken in Toronto? How to tip in Canada? I know I should tip taxi drivers or waiters.
I just uploaded my recording in your 'Pronunciation rules'. Please check it out!
Wow, I love your writing. Thanks for taking the time to reply - I greatly appreciate it!
Toronto is near Montreal and where Tara live, so maybe we could meet with each other there at your convenience. Do you think so? I guess signs in Toronto must be in English. Do the citizens of Toronto speak French?
Yes, I can have Chinese food at the 'China town'. So, I won't bring any food to Canada from China.
As for driving licence, I'd better take mine with me in case I need it.
Oh, sorry, I missed most of your blogs. I'll find time to read them.
Thanks again. I was impressed with your so informative comment. Very helpful.
So, you're living near Montreal, Quebec. How long have you been in Canada? Are you studing there too? Toronto is an ideal place to learn and improve English.
Oh yes, I heard that French signs in Montreal can be a problem for anyone who doesn't understand French. So, it's a good idea for me to bring along a guidebook just in case.
I thought I should take some Chinese food with me, such as 'instant noodles', sausages, pickles. You know, the eating habits of people from East Asia can be quite different. Don't get me wrong there - I'd like to try Western food. I don't think the food can be a problem for me. I know I can't put the food or any fluid in my carry-on/hand baggage, so I decided to put all the food in the check-in baggage. Maybe I shouldn't bother to take any with me, right?
By the way, do you like Chinese food? I heard there're some Chinese restaurants in Montreal.
