"I will be here."
....."do a joke" instead of "make a joke". I'm sorry.
learners..... much work on them, LOL
bye
To tell you the truth, I realized that, but I'd never think you'd do that joke on this serious project, where you added yourself in order to help people all over the world.
Let me tell you sht, the student who asked me about the stickdrum had his answer last Sat, his week class. That's a small group class for speaking (communication), 5 people.
Well, in the previous class I had told them that I didn't know the answer, but I was going to look it up over the internet with an English teacher I had just found, it's you, well let's get back, then I told them I knew some words related with meat, such as beef, poltry, pork, seafood, etc... and I told them about steak, stick, chest, ... (that's because there is a poltry called CHESTER, it's similar to chicken, but it's 70% chest, I mean its chest takes 70 % of the body)
I told them that the chest of poltry is the white meat part and most of people prefer chest to dark meat.
Then I got your explanation I really got surprised when I learned that the chest of poltry is not called chest but breast, I found it really funny.
So I had to tell them the news (or I had to update them -?-)
When I said I had mixed up a word, chest, and said the right one, they laughted because they knew the word and asked how they could know when it was breast from chicken or breast from a woman, I said "you have to decide which one is possible to have in a dish to be eaten". LOL
again everybody laughted. Then I showed them a drawing from Longman dic, on this both a man and a woman naked for word vocabulary, again evby LOL, because you have chest for a man and breast for a woman.
That's all okay.
I'm totaly positive about it. Don't mention it, I have in my mind you're my teacher, a good person prompts to help with this important tool - English language -
I'm very grateful __ you (on/with/at-?-), LOL
Have a nice day teacher!
ps: In Portuguese we have something similar with thigh and stickdrum, both are called by the same name "coxa", then we have "coxa de frango" or "coxa de mulher/homem" .
again it might become into a joke. NO PROBLEM AT ALL.
bye bye
Im looking through my kitchin window and there is a small garden outside, some thym, basal, lemon tree and a mazing odur of some flower, I couldnt describe the smell because it mixes with winter smell which is over the describtion, and there is a cat with her babies hide in a small cartoon box, she is trying to protect her babies from the cold,it is an incredible sight, I will put some milk for her and her babies , there is nothing to say after this sight, just stay and watch.
Thanks for writing me back (?) (this question mark means doubt about the phrasal)
So teacher, when I said you played a joke I referred to that:
.... "a drum stick like the stick used to strike a drum", got it?
I understood that when a chicken's leg is roasted...it is called a drumstick and to memorize it I figured out that:
we use a stick to strike a drum, know what I mean?!
That's why I said you used a speech to help memorizing
Teacher Bill, I'm very thankful for you attention.
DO keep on correcting me, PLEASE.
warm regards
Teacher I have a very bad habit, writing without checking the spelling, you'll see it. I'm sorry but I'll be working better on it from here up.
I'd like to ask you a big FAVOR, let me know when I make mistakes, because my time is very short and I'm not here to waste time, but learn.
I like people and make friends, but my schedule stops me.
Most of time I'm on line to improve didatics and my English very late at night, and it takes me to long, since I'm addicted to English, I do love the Language
Teacher, sorry again taking your time on me.
Have a super weekend!
warm regards
hru?hp ur gr8.
Thank you very much baout the info, besides the joke, cool.
I can see you're a real TEACHER, I mean some of them only work as teachers, but don't care much about the results or make the learning easier to their students.
I always do the same you did in order to make my students memorize, in addition learn more. Sometimes I play fool of myself to mean I care about them. I don't want to be blamed if some of them give English up.
In fact English is much easier than Portuguese, but Brazilians are usually a kind of lazy about everything, specially learning or filling the income tax form out, they usually let it for the last time on the last day....LOL, I, myself, am not that one, I'm a selfstudy, and I've always been looking up new words, chants, phrasal verbs and so on, and I definitly fill my form up in time for the Internal Revenil.
Sorry I got your time on my subject.
By the way, I loved your post about phrasal verbs, but I just can't understand that "OFF", I thought I did before TODAY, but when I read "get off on", my gosh, how can I be supposed to understand it, since "OFF" means to me something like "END", such as get on/off or turn on/off...
Well, thanks again teacher.
wr
I decided to take a chance and ask you for a word that a student of mine has been asking for 3 weeks.
It's a piece of rosted chicken, its leg, LOL, I can't find the word at dicitionaries, I've worked a little bit hard on it, but no results. I looked up for the word ant 3 or 4 dic, but no result. the most I got was "chest", could you please tell me the word.
Thankful in advance.
i am in the target.
