Hello Dear EC Friends :)

How are you?

Have you tried EC new tool bar for chat?

It is amazing!

It has a lot of parts.

You can check  Owais Sheikh's blog about it here.

(Thanks for writing about it Owais Sheikh)

But, please let me say about my first experience there.

When I opened EC this morning, I could talk for some of my nice friends and one of them was Scarlett. I'm sure that many of you know her and her kindness. She is a new face in EC who is very nice girl. I had a lovely time with her and by usi

My first post = anyone out there ?

My life was as a freelance farm consultant travelling worldwide.  I taught English when and where I could to help local communities.     I retired from farming - though I miss it terribly - and taught English Conversation in the Khon Kaen area of Thailand.   I have recently moved to Chonburi province and hope to teach here privately - too old by Thai government regulations to teach officially !?   I would like to hear from anyone, anywhere about anything.

Take care everyone.   Ian

Perspective...

Don’t ask why it happened; ask how you handled it when it
happened. Rather than wasting energy asking why something
is happening, or how it could have happened, I can choose to
focus my energy on my response; ensuring I respond with
stability and dignity.

Tonight is the last night of Autumn. We, Iranian celebrate it as the "Yalda Night", the longest night whole the year. Yalda has great significance in the Persian/Iranian calendar.

"Yalda" is a time of joy. We gather around and enjoy a fine dinner. Many varieties of fruits and sweetmeats especially prepared or kept for this night are served. In some areas it is believed that forty varieties of edibles should be served. The most typical is watermelon.

I'm an avid reader and I've read a lot. I've literally read thousands of books. No exaggeration! When I was young, I used to read everything which would come in my way. Newspapers, magazines, novels, books on history, religion, and even politics. Everything except poetry. Poetry has never been my cup of tea. I still read a lot, but now I skip some.

When you're fond of reading, you're always searching for a good book to read. And if a book becomes a bestseller, you crave for it. Don't you?

I was qu

Hello my dear EC friends,

I’m Scarlett,

** I come from Vietnam. I’m here with determination and enthusiasm to master my English and pursue my unawakened dream due to the effect of a busy life. Thanks MyEC for waking it up and motivating me toward my goals. I know now it’s very difficult. But there is a saying “Stay hungry, stay foolish” where everything we do now will make sense in the future It tells us to keep going and hear the voice of our heart. So, I’ll never give up! Today is Dec.19th, 201

Few days ago, Tara posted 12-12-12 What should we call this kind of date? to ask for suggesting a word in English for the day 12-12-12 ,and at the end of her post, she asked what other words we do not have in English. She also provided a link to 20 untranslatable words in English.

This made me think back When I immigrated to Canada. The difference between my mother tongue language and English was so obvious and

Have you ever heard about this American, Cortez W. Peters Jr.? He was the world-champion typist once. He won twelve typing contests. Would you believe if I say that he set a typing world record of 225 words per minute - or wpm for short? That’s amazing, isn’t it? How many words can you type per minute?

Obviously, all computer users know how to type. They fall under two typing styles! The first style is called ‘two-finger or ‘hunt and peck’ typing. Those who use this style can’t type at all with

17.12.2012. :)

My house is so well built that when I go out, the temperature at my room falls by one degree in Celsius.. But when I come back to home and keep the door to my room closed. It will soon again rise back up to +17C! That's how much heat my body produces.

Cool isn't? :D

While the EU officials did ban Incandescent light bulbs too.. the one extra source that could give more heat. :P No I actually would not heat with electricity anyways. I just wanted to point out how stupid are those careerist EU offici

A Story That Never Ends!

It was a lovely December morning in the faraway lands. The sun was shining and the birds were singing. A fresh breeze was gently blowing, carrying with it the fragrance of blossoming flowers. On an old worn out wooden bench under a huge tree were sitting two young friends.

With a bleeding heart , worn out feelings, stiff fingers and disobedient pen, i would hardly say that this is the photo of my cousin ,Amjad AL-Montasir AL-Solmi,who passed away today noon in one of the hospitals in Taiz city. He had been injured in an accident yesterday afternoon in AL-Ga'ayda city , while he was with his father on their way to Taiz city. May Allah has mercy on his soul and bless him to his grave. Hope that Allah grant his parents the patience.

Why I Love You

Why I Love You

You give to me hope
And help me to cope
When life pulls me down
You bring me around

You teach me to care
And help me to share
You make me honest
With kindness the best

From you I learned love
With grace from above
It's for you I live
And I want to give

You are the reason
That fills each season
When I hear love I think of you
You are my world and best friend too
