Did You Know? - John has it all?

This post had been edited to include several expressions/idioms given by Gil Gaudia, Ph.D. Tara Benwell and Gabriel Sowrian

Isn't it interesting that the name 'John' is so generic that two well-known phrases use it?  I wonder if there are other names that are used generically?. Thank you Gil Gaudia, Ph.D.  for the corrections.

This week marked the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I have a dream" speech. MLK delivered his speech on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC 50 years ago.

I visited the exact location where MLK delivered his famous speech just a few weeks ago with my family. Taking the kids to the site where MLK delivered his speech was a very memorable experience for me. I took short video clips of my children telling me their own dreams for the future. Thanks to people like MLK who

I wanna go to a place

I wanna to a place where I can say
That I'm all right and I'm staying there with you
I wanna know if there could be anyway
That there's no fight, and I'm safe and sound with you

And everytime I look, I thought you were there,
But it was just my imagination
I don't see it anymore cause I see through you now

Even now you still haven't noticed this quiet sky
I am always thinking of it, but I can no longer return to there

And I will always be awake in my heart, gently taking notice
That someday I will be able

I was debating whether I want to share with members here on a heartbreaking article and photos that I have read a few days ago about the devastation face by the people of Vietnam due to Agent Orange. As a stranger, I don't feel comfortable to share such article and photos, but my friend I am Vietnamese, put a question to me, 'Noas, are you going to write a blog about it? If you want additional information, I can help you with it'. It make me realise that maybe as a stranger, I can also share som

Can you see the dolphins?

A 3D stereogram is an image hidden in another image. Those who passed the exam for the driving licence, can have an idea about this, because they have tests examining accuracy and visual attention.

Still, 3D stereograms are quite different. They exam the ability of a person to emerge multiple objects into one. It's not the attention but the technique of viewing, that makes a 2D image to transform suddenly in a 3D one...like a miracle I would say.

Even if I discovered the stereograms just a cupple

Express your ideas differently

A blind man was begging in NEW YORK streets, with a board written

--I'm blind, help me--

A guy passing that side, saw him.

He took that board & wrote some thing.

On that day the blind man got heavy collection.
...
Many people started to give money.

Now he got curious and requested a man passing by to read it ......

He read --TODAY IS A BEAUTIFUL DAY, BUT I CAN'T SEE IT--

The way of expressing can change many things.

So express your ideas differently..

Life, fair or not?

Today one of my colleagues complained with me about her disappointment at work. She got upset these days for having to teach Information Technology instead of Maths. The problem is that she majored Maths in Uni and now the management board arrange her SEVEN classes of IT while only ONE class of Math (among 24 in all). She’s really resented being treated unfairly. The reason is also unreasonable, that is, her rate of quality on Students’ points the previous year didn’t meet the requirement (more

Whenever you experience anything unpleasant in your life, don't take it serious as seriousness will eat your whole body gradually. How can you come it over? Just share it in a funny way with your friends and see how better you feel after that. I give you an example here. I hope you will like it, and if it brings a smile on your face, I presume my effort has borne fruits.

Once upon a time, an uninvited guest paid his kind visit at my poor home. The guest whom you never host nor you w

Hello, my dearest EC members!

We learned the difference between the indefinite articles, i.e ‘a’ and ‘an’ and the correct usage of them when we were still in elementary school. Here’s a little test for you!  What  indefinite  article  do  you  use  when  you  name  each of the 26 letters of the alphabet?

.

~*~:~*~:~*~:~*~:~*~:~*~:~*~:~*~:~*~:~*~:~*~:~*~:~*~:~*~:~*~:~*~:~*~:~*~:~*~:~*~:~*~

.

Fill in the blanks with a’ or ‘an’. Can you score 26 out of 26?
