DO IT NOW!!!

Dear friends! This post is dedicated to one of my best friend in EC - :)

Now is the right moment to do all the things you have been delaying till "Later". We have an overrated trust in life, in time; Even though they actually always betray us. We soon realize that there's no "time" to do what we always wanted, & what we never considered we may be unable to do someday. Nothing is guaranteed. So do it now; while you still can.

The past isn't really past if it's still living in your heart.

Discussion Question: Language changes so quickly these days that it's almost pointless for new dictionaries to be printed. Do you think we will soon see the end of traditional publishing when it comes to reference books such as dictionaries and encyclopedias?

The process of evolution of languages is so wonderful , because it makes us notice the way which we express, also follows the rising changings of our technological era.

Writing Challenge: Root Words

Root Word ~ phon: voice, sound

Struggling to be a good phonetics student

What makes me to move ahead in the process of learning a second language is the possibility of not only speak it, but also speak it phonetically correct.

That's why I'm giving more importance to the English phonetics through the  study of IPA chart sounds for some time now.

It's like I wanted to have all the phonemes highlighted to the maximum in my voice when talking to other persons.

This way, I intend to get rid of c

Of course, it is a question to ask myself, where i want to go, specially in my dreams! I know, there are lots of places around the world where I want to go, move around, but which I do like most?

Here,we have the longest Sea- Shore. I have been there several     times. Though my first visit always remains in my mind. Then I was  9-year old. I went there with my family and we reached  after a 10- hour long journey.  We just spend  30 minutes to take our lunch and refresh ourselves then we head

Every ending is just a new beginning!

Every ending is just a new beginning. Every dark tunnel has a light spot at its end. Its just that we're too busy drowning in the darkness and in our sadness that we don't notice the light, we don't notice the new opened doors and chances for us. Whatever is gone had left an empty space for something else and hopefully better to occupy it. We just keep dwelling on the emptiness it left and the blank space ; However that emptiness is meant for something more fitting to fill it. I think wha

When Jamu is Not Bitter Anymore

When you read the title above, you might wonder about what jamu is. Jamu is Indonesian traditional medicine. Each area in Indonesia probably has different term about its traditional medicine, but the term “Jamu” is more familiar and popular.

The reason I write this article is that I read one article here written by Dimas. He wrote briefly about the traditional medicine and what his favorite recipe. What intrigued me was a comment from Noaslpls where she said she disliked Jamu since it had bitter

Writing Challenge : Write 2 Connect

2346680198?profile=originalSuddenly I found myself staring at my laptop with a nothing to write. The most dreaded thing had happened to me. Am I finally hitting my writer's block? OHMY! What am I going to do? Scour the net to find articles to read? Find more obscure facts to write in 'Did You Know?' series?. The easiest answer is sleep and more sleep. LOL

I never think of myself that one day I will enjoy writing, especially writing in English. Though I read a lot, I never dream that I will find one coherent thought and sen

Writing Prompt ~ Sometimes, Sometime, Some Time

I sometimes enjoy to put my voice in action to check my English skills out in proof. I hope to be able to change my "lazy" to speak in my learning daily in quite some time. Because knowledge without  practice is valueless. Sometimes, I find some learners that have too much grammar background but nothing related to speaking experiences in the target language. So, if you have some time to speak in English, I'd say: SPEAK! It's really important to do

My First Answer to a Foreigner

The great adventure happened one warm  evening in the central square of Budapest called Blaha Lujza Square. I was standing at the bus stop when a foreigner turned to me and asked one of the most frequent questions, 'Excuse me, do you speak English?'

I wasn't a beginner that time. First I had learnt English by myself for a year by the help of a self-teaching book and the CDs belonging to it. I had a pretty good vocabulary and a basic grammar kowledge. Finishing my one-year-program I admitted a cou

Using Apple Keynote

Greetings!

I use Apple's Keynote application to teach English to my students. Some students take lessons one to one, and others take lessons in small groups.

I present the lessons that are on an iPad via a small wifi called an "AppleTV" to HDTV screens. The ATV links to the iPad wirelessly, and to the HDTV via an HDMI cable.

I create the presentations on my Apple iMac. I use DropBox to move the lessons from My computer to the iPad. I usually create my own lessons but I also use the lessons offered
