My fated friend - real story

Today I would like to share something real, something about friendship you might come across over the internet, friendship which is worth it.

Well,  I met her almost three years ago here on MY EC. I joined this website to improve my English skills since I was about to take Cambridge exam. I entered chatroom and noticed there somebody who totally differed fromothers, absolutely crazy and freaky girl. Even though I didn't know her, I was sure she is my "blood type" and we will be friends one day.

"Baba Tahir", The naked poet!

"Baba Tahir Oryan" is a famous Persian poet who lived about a thousand years ago. Most of his life is clouded in mystery. He is well-known for his short poets (couplet) which are full of introspection and almost all of them bring new ideas into mind. As I like his poems, I translated four of them. I can explain the meaning if somebody is interested:

A story every now and then >>

A little bird was flying south for the Winter. It was so cold the bird froze and fell to the ground into a large field.

While he was lying there, a cow came by and dropped some dung on him.
As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow dung, he began to realize how warm he was.

The dung was actually thawing him out!
He lay there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy.

A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate. Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the

I lied. I lied to you when I said I am not in love. I lied that I do not feel it. I faked it, and never put the real feeling in front of you. Don’t know, whether it was lack of courage or lack of understanding. What so ever it was, it was a blunder for sure. A blunder which has no redemption, it has only consequences.

In the walk of life, I met people and I lost them. They came like a day and went like a night. I can not remember them, because my memories are pre occupied by you. Everything, ever

Yesterday I taught english lesson for the seventh grader. It was class 7E at SMP BSS Malang, Indonesia. This is my first experience in teaching students in real classes, alone! When I come in front of the class, the students are so excited. One of them even said to me, "C'mon, miss.. come in.. teach us english!". :D I was so glad knowing that. They are really good students. They are quite active, smart and nice students. I was teaching them about how to introduce themselves. Before yesterday, I

Dear friends! I think you all heard about the recent Russian so called humanitarian convoy (according to Putin!!! What a suitable word!) of 280 trucks that were sent to Ukraine on Putin's own initiative a week ago. This action hadn't been coordinated either with Ukrainian government or with The Red Cross. Just look at them! Do they look like a peaceful mission? As a matter of fact, these are the military trucks painted white and soldiers disguised in some strange uniform. It is not only well-kno

Writing Prompts: Apostrophes

Writing Prompts ~ Apostrophes

Hey Brian

Our graduation party's weekend is just around the corner! I hope you are remembered that I need you to bring me till Thursday from Marc's grocery store some indispensable items, so that I can make a tasty dinner for us and our closest university's colleagues. It's been one week I've been thinking about what topic to choose for our party. In fact, it's crossing my mind several things and it seems like I can't decide a proper theme for it. I'm gonna surely nee

The Rain!

It's a gloomy Monday evening and I can sense the scent of moisture in the air. Here it rarely happens to rain in such a summery day. My friend replies to me it's possible but not probable. I murmur it's also probable!

I say goodbyes to my friend and take my path to the other side of the town, where I'm going to play basketball. Yet I'm not far away that I feel the hit of the first drop to my face. Each step I take the rain intensifies and the world seems more ambiguous behind my glasses. The side

(from my e-book, "Speak and Write Like a Native: 110 Things You Need to Know About English")
7) Pronunciation of “-ed” endings:   The past simple tense and past participle of all regular verbs end in -ed.  ESL students very often pronounce this ending as a separate syllable, but in many cases this –ed ending is not pronounced as a separate syllable.

The rule here is:
Verbs ending in “t” or “d” ( “want”,  “treat”,  “sound”,  “end”,  “add”, etc.)  gain a syllable when put into the past tense:

Today there are  more lonely people than ever before. It is perhaps  ironic considering  the problems of ............., but  it is no less  true. On top of all the usual  causes  of lonliness - shyness ,low  self -esteem ,and so on - you now  have to include the high rate of divorce, which creates thousands of new lonely people each year................ people move around more  now than  ever before. And every time people move house , they risk lonliness because they may not know anyone at the

birds at home

2346877393?profile=original

We have several house sparrows twittering and chirping in the window, picking grains we drop in the pots of plants. We were so thrilled to see them build a nest in a nearby pipe hole, so we decided to put up a pretty bird house for them. After soemtime we put up the bird houes high up on the wall outside the glass sliding window on the bars, but on the inside of the window bars.
Few days later we were happy to see a pair take a look at the bird house, but did not dare to get in. It remained vac

Ever experienced an exhilarating delight and extreme thrill at the same time? Try being in the midst of a mixed flock of birds in a highland forest of Uttrakhand, with snow covered roads looking no less than paradise but yet risky for vehicles and making adventurous journey vulnerable.

Thanks to Amit, for enlightening the thirst to feel the Higher Himalayas by all our senses. He called me to watch those snow peaks from top roof of the Cautley Bhawan which aroused a relentless curiosity to feel th
