Hi there!

I would like to share here a nice experience I had in class yesterday with my Elementary III (adults) group. I have taught them about food, some healthy habits, keeping fit and so on, so I thought: "I should invite one of my friends from My English Club to be interviewed by my students...". So, that's what happened. I logged in and saw Martin, from Slovakia, online, then I invited him to participate in an interview activity and he said YES!!! I got very happy, because I wanted to provi

The Second Blog

2346165799?profile=originalHave you looked at the blogging statistics on MyEC lately (see Monthly archives)? We have more bloggers than ever. I am always very proud when I read a 1st blog by a new member. Sometimes it is only one or two lines. Taking this first step is very important! You should feel very proud. Guess what makes me even happier? You guessed it. The second blog! Many people stop blogging at #1, but I hope you aren't one of them.

In your second blog you can tell us more about yourself. Try answering these q

The dustbin of history

The Libyan leader Colonel Muammar Gaddafi likes to use colourful language. In a recent speech he said that the US-led attack on Libya is by "a bunch of fascists who will end up in the dustbin of history." Assuming that this is an accurate translation from the Arabic, these thirteen words offer four different expressions that English learners would do well to know:

a bunch of

This common expression means "a group of" or "a collection of", for example a bunch of carrots. It is often used pejorat

Hi Everyone,

Thank you all for your concern! I'm glad that some of the members here asked me for my 'part 2' and they really wanted to know how my study in Canada was going. I'm happy to tell you that everything here seems to be going well. I'd like to share something new with you.

Getting used to the new environment

I've moved to another rented house which is near the hospital where I'm studying. So, I don't need to take the Metro (underground/subway) to the hospital every day. I'll never forget

Happy 5th Birthday Twitter

What do you use twitter for? This is a question many people are asking themselves today. Those who are not on twitter, may decide that it's finally time to start chirping. Why today? It is twitter's 5th birthday!

5 reasons I (@tarabenwell) use twitter:
  1. for professional development (every Wednesday I try to join #ELTChat with other English language teachers around the world)
  2. to share amazing links related to my interests (teaching English, writing, parenting)
  3. to invite people to check out sites that

At my faculty, one of my our professors asked us the above question.Regardless of the avalanche of answers we gave,I only still remember his.He said:

"When you speak it correctly & unconsciously without thinking like when you are under pressure or anesthetized or dreaming.this & only this means you do."

My question is for you now do you master English in this sense?

Dear EC friends,

As you all know that a super earthquake of record-breaking 8.9 magnitude on Richter Scale has hit off the Japan triggering a devastating tsunami that has caused many casualties and extensive damage in north-eastern Japan.

The quake sparked fire in many buildings in Tokyo killing many people.

And there have been powerful after-shocks. After-shocks may hit the area for several months because of the very high magnitude of quake on Richter scale.

So I appeal everybody to offer thei

Unlike other social sites, what is beautiful about Myenglishclub is that any member's page is yours if not everyone's. You can visit whatever page you want, listen to the music, read the blogs, leave a comment, see the photes, write on the wall-page to greet that member or welcome him, moreover You can also read the comments he/she has left for other members or for some blogs he has read, the fact which may incite you to read the blog and leave a comment as well.  I do really enjoy this particula

MyEC: More than a Chat Room

MyEC: More than a Chat Room: Listen

We all use MyEC for different reasons. My primary reason for using MyEC is to encourage English learners to write. I love writing and I hope my passion for writing will rub off on the members here. I think blogging is an excellent way to practise and teach English.

Others use MyEC to share poetry or watch English videos or learn new vocabulary. Many of you have found groups with people who have like interests. You forget that you are practising English becaus

2346146089?profile=originalI know many of you spend a lot of time online, but do you also like to gab on the phone? Do you still have a landline, or do you just use a mobile?

This week my husband is going to get rid of our landline. Why? It costs a lot of money each month and we almost never use it. I use video chat to talk to my best friends, clients, and colleagues. I use my cell phone to text my family members and I use email, twitter, and blogs to keep in touch with friends around the world. We have moved so many time

Hi Everyone,

I'm happy to tell you that I'm already here in Canada after the long journey from China, and everything here seems to be going very well for me. I'd like to thank all the members who kept asking about my journey during my absence for the nice comments and notes. There's nothing better than receiving messages from MyEC friends. It was all the kind greetings that cheered me on and made me survive the first few days here in another country far from mine. I'm sorry for the dalay in repl

Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium

2346138931?profile=original

It was a statutory holiday in some parts of Canada today. Some provinces call the third Monday in February "Family Day". I am happy to be in a province that promotes the importance of family time.

We didn't get up to much on Family Day. It was nice to just relax after a busy week full of Valentine and birthday parties. We hung out in PJs and played Wii and watched a movie. Have you seen Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium? If not, you should!

This movie stars Dustin Hoffman (Rainman) and Natalie Por
