Since we have an audio group in MyEC, many members face a problem using Vocaroo to record their voice. I suggest them to record their voice by computer then upload it here. To do so, there are just 2 steps:

  1. Record your voice by computer. You can see this blog to know How to Record Voice Using Your Computer.

2.Upload your voice as a comment in two steps.

What is the second conditional?

The second conditional is a structure used for talking about unreal situations in the present or in the future. That is the reason why sometimes it's also called as the present unreal conditional.

We use it to talk about a situation that is not real or is unlikely to occur and the imaginary consequences that follow such an unreal situation.

The structure of a second conditional sentence :-

A second conditional sentence consists of two clauses;

Photo Challenge#5: A Gift to Yourself

2346110947?profile=originalDo you love and appreciate yourself?

Appreciating ourselves helps us to be focussed with a positive direction. We have to love ourself by giving reward and praise for our each success.

Stan Goldberg Ph. D., Professor from San Francisco University USA concludes in his observation the past twenty five years, the 10 important principles for one to have success! Advice for a student in her/his twenties:

  1.       Do not give up your passion. If you prepare yourself to go to university or are studying in a university already, do not overwhelm yourself only by study materials. Your passion is as important as your study giving you motivation, enjoyment, enthusiasm and happiness. I gave up painting because of my studies.I wish I could have learned it completely. If I had, I would have had my own gallery by now. I would also be happier and more fulfilled in my li

Adopt a Young Learner

2346102459?profile=originalI was so excited to see that an amazing new teacher joined MyEC today. Greta Sandler inspired me from the moment I read a guest blog post she wrote called Love them Before you Know them. Some people are just meant to be teachers and she is one of them. Just look at the quotes on her profile and you will see that she is one of the world's "greats". Her blog About a Teacher is very inspiring. Why? She shares real life stories.

Do you think blogging is difficult? Greta blogs with her young learners

2346099582?profile=original2010 has been an amazing year for MyEC! We have welcomed so many new friends and are close to 30, 000 members. Remember when we welcomed Punima? She was the 20 000th member. People from around the world flooded her wall with welcome messages the moment she joined. That was so fun! There have been other fun moments in 2010, including photo challenges, Wordless Wednesdays, games, contests, and business chats. We were very sad to see some members go, and very happy to see a few return! I'm so proud

Expector's Concern

Hi Eveyone,

One more question for you: Now that you know I'm not a native English speaker, do you still think Expector's English is good enough to help you learn or improve English?

I know some of the members here are not interested in reading anything from/by non-native English speakers. They're afraid of learning mistakes non-native speakers may make. It's quite reasonable for them to think so or do so. I even suggest reading all the blog posts or comments by native English speakers. I admit t

Expector's Voice

Hi everybody,

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Can you hear me? Do you like my voice? Does it sound a little Chinglish? I don't think I've got a nice voice, though. I even hate my voice - many people do. This is the first time I've ever uploaded such a record - I decided it was time for me to make my voice heard the other day. I hope you can follow suit, make your voice heard, and practice spoken English.

Christmas Day isn't a holiday here, so we don't take any days off work or school. But, C

Many of you are using the "tag" corrections in your blog posts! This is great. Thank you to all of the teachers and advanced learners who are helping. Please remember that teachers are not here to fix your mistakes. You must try to fix them yourself first.

Andria is a new member who showed her corrections in a very clever way. When you share your corrections, you become the teacher for another English learner!

You can use the "strike out feature" to show your corrections. 2346095876?profile=original

MY NEW COUNTRY (And My Day Job)

I am finally settling in to my new home and new job in Saudi Arabia.  I am teaching English as a Foreign Language, in a private secondary school for boys during the mornings.  I also go next door to the intermediate school and visit each English class there for one period each week.  I still do not have a reliable internet connection, so I am not able to do much here at my favorite English web site.

My very first experience

Here I want to share my story with you. I had a penpal several years ago. It was a Turkish guy who studied in Vilnius, Lithuania. He’s name was Serhan. We’d been chatting for about two months when he said that he is going to visit Minsk. I was really surprised and excited.

He came together with his friends. One of them was from France and another from Germany. So the only way we could communicate was English. It was my very first time I spoke with someone in English not in a classroom but in real
