Hello Idealist, Reference to your "Negative Mood" subject, I like the quotation from Charles Dickens:-
“Prowling about the rooms, sitting down, getting up, stirring the fire, looking out the window, teasing my hair, sitting down to write, writing nothing, writing something and tearing it up…” —Charles Dickens
That sums up the situation perfectly I think. The last time I was in Beijing, it was snowing but the snow did not settle. It turned to slush and the smog was really bad. That is how my mood is when I am in a negative mood.
To snap out of the mood, I go and work in my vegetable garden. I take my frustration out on the weeds that are always present...... Barnaby
I think that we use English as a secondary language, and hence, it is very important to us practice it as much as possible under our different state of affairs. In my case, I am unable to find people using English for their day-to-day activities. Actually, we all use our native languages as a habit within our local contexts. For this reason, I believe strongly that working with some people like English Club is of utter importance. Yes, will try our best to exploit this opportunity for improving our knowledge in English.
Hello idealist! first of all..) a light question;) what means ~~? I'm so sorry but sometimes I can't understand some signs.
Why am I attracted for these ancient things? because I want to know and explain how the people live now and then, our differences, goals, mistakes,..., What are the same among us? What are our differences?. Where are we from? How was our history? How were the relationships in those times? What meaning had this or that gadget? Why the human improve technics instead his mind?
And the harder questions: Why the human can't live in peace? Are the relationships a power relation between two or more? Could we forget our history? Is there any answer that we could use now?
Besides, a lot of question more ;–)
I'm so sorry for my delayed answering to your comment, I'm going among surprises here and sometimes something is forget it ;–) but your questions, suggestions and thougts will be greatfully received.
