As many of you know, I am currently in the UK. Did you know that this is my first trip to Europe? Many of the English teachers here are shocked to hear this news. When I ask, "Have you been to Canada?" they usually shake their heads.

Would you also be surprised to know that I'm learning English while I'm here? British English is "brilliant". I love listening to the British accents.

Here are some British English words I've learned since I arrived (defined in Canadian English):

"brolly": umbrella (A

If the WIP (Western Imperialist Powers) succeed in their mission of regime change in Libya, expect:

~ the new central bank to join the BIS (Bank for International Settlements)

~ the nationalized oil industry to get sold off to investors

~ education and health care no longer to be free

Further details: Libya ~ All About Oil or All About Banking?

*hypothetical because the WIP will not succeed

IT'S A CRAZY LANGUAGE

We'll begin with a box, and the plural is boxes;
but the plural of ox became oxen not oxes.

One fowl is a goose, but two are called geese,
yet the plural of moose should never be meese

You may find a lone mouse or a nest full of mice;
yet the plural of house is houses, not hice.

If the plural of man is always called men,
why shouldn't the plural of pan be called pen?

If one is a tooth and a whole set are teeth,
why shouldn't the plural of booth be called beeth?

Then one may be th

God`s Mercy

Two days ago I encountered a scandalous, arrogant, stupid person.  She was actually my co - worker. I was having a chat with my other co - workers when she entered the room and asked me to give her the documents  needed by her son for college admission. She was in a commanding tone when she approached me. So,I told her I needed her son`s accomplished clearance form before I can release what she had asked for. Sadly, she didn`t have the clearance form and didn`t know where his son`s clearance. Bu

As chinese proverb, "spare the rod, spoil the child" , most elder parents do not doubt it make sense.

However, as the times change, more new problems show up with the crude methods of education. In view of this situation, people have to pay more attention on these new education problems, in particular, the educators. So, must we do punish to children for helping them tell from the so-called right and so-called wrong? If you ask me, my point is the appropriate punishment even including physical pu

Smart King

Once upon a time in Java Island, there was a king, and he was old. He was frustrated because he didn't have a son to be his successor. Finally he asked all of youth in his village to come to his castle and the king would choose one of them.

The next day, in the morning, there was a crowd of youth before the castle and the king started to give speech.

King : "My people, I ask you to get here because there is something to have to deliver to you. I will choose one of the young man here to be my succe

Listen and Relax

After a long day at work and with all the hustle and bustle of the day, I always  take time to relax with music, sorting out my thoughts. Today it was Queen’s “Too much love will kill you” that caught my attention. It is a song written by Queen guitarist Brian May, Frank Musker, and Elizabeth Lamers. It was released four years after Freddy Mercury's death.

It is a very powerful song. While I was listening, I gave it a thought. I wondered what was on the guitarist’ mind  when he wrote the song. I

     Now I am sitting at my university and have a break between my lections. Until my impressions are fresh I would like to share with you my past evening. I was on the concert of Enrique Iglesias. I’ll begin with next. Approximately a month before the concert was a really great agitation, about concert talked everywhere, you know, it sounded from “each iron” This tour in support of his album euphoria and Moscow was the last point in European tour.  I am not his big fan, but I know and like his

RESILIENCE: JAPAN

On March 11, 2011, a magnitude 9.0 earthquake struck the Island of Honshu, Japan with its epicenter in the Sendai province.  This earthquake triggered a 12 meter high tsunami event along the eastern coast of Honshu.  The combined force of these two catastrophic events and further exacerbated by a continuous cycle of daily noticeable earthquakes that have measured between 4.5 and 7.1 in intensity as defined by the Richter scale has caused significant damage throughout the nation

Teacher's day

Today in Ecuador we remember the birth of Juan Montalvo, one of our most famous writers. He was born in Ambato, place of birth of Juan León Mera, author of our anthem's lyrics, and also Juan Benigno Vela. All of them well known writers, reason for which Ambato is also known as "The cradle of the three Johns".

In 1920, President Alfredo Baquerizo Moreno decreed this day as the day of the Ecuadorian Teacher.

So, a happy teacher's day to my fellow colleagues. :)

God bless us all.

My Passion, My Life

Dictionary

Every morning I excitedly get out of bed. Just a few minutes of goals and visions for the day swirl in my head. No lingering for me, no alarm, no wishful notes too. Just me in my night gown with no hat.

I sit down to enter my dreams and what can notes. In my journal entries that began long ago with a tiny book and its lock and key. I used to dwell on all the icky things back then but now I write God with my cheers and glees instead.
