Hey Guys

I was reading an interesting article just now, and I was laughing so hard that I think I have to share this with you guys.

This is about some spelling errors and poor use of English which can result in really big embarrassment and sound rude in some cases. I have to apologise well in advance if some of you found it a bit crude, but you have to admit that maybe these kinds of mistakes we made in our daily lives and we did not realised them.

I have no affiliation with the websites linked in

         Hello everyone,

I want to thank my two dearest friends Setar and Noas who encouraged me to write this blog.

                                                           So, Thanks a lot

Observing some conversations in the Main Room for the last few days led me to write this tricky issue. What I noticed recently is the bigotry that had been rampant among some members. What's bigotry some of you may ask.

  Bigotry (/ˈbigətrē/)

Noun : Bigoted attitudes; intolerance toward those who hold

Practising English Online

I wrote this blog based on Tara's Practising English Online Challenge. I've added some information and made some amendments from my original blog.

Years ago, I stumbled upon EC when I was looking for an English Chat Room to alleviate my boredom. I met many good friends, but at that time, not many English Teachers or native English Speakers joined the Chat Room. When I re-entered EC somewhere in October last year, EC had changed. I found out many English Teachers and also native English Speakers w

Hi everyone, I want to talk a bit more this post, about a news which is spreaded through Web, and It's related to, at first, strange, Google`s  new tool called "Innactive Account Manager ". It was unveiled on April 11 by Andreas Tuerk - product manager - on Google Data Liberation Blog. If you want, you can follow this link and read on your own: http://dataliberation.blogspot.com

The goal of this new tool is, according to Google, allows google`s account holders manage their digital lives by sett

ESP is not usually for Beginners

This blog post discusses ESP as a type of English class. The blog is not at a beginner level and will be too difficult for beginners unless you take your time using your dictionary and the vocabulary words at the end. I do hope that upper intermediate readers will be able to understand this topic easily.

ESP stands for English for Specific Purposes.  It is sometimes called English for Special Purposes which means the same.

ESP describes English classes designed to teach specialized or technical E

In few days, I will have to give my final exams. I am supposed to study for them, but I don't have any intentions or passions for that. I think I am so exhausted mentally. The reason that I realized I am mentally so exhausted was a nice message that I recieved from a friend on EC. The message made me think that I have lost true joy and contentment of my life because of my university workloads.

Then, one thing guidde me to another. To take this university workload and stress off of my shoulder, I

I just returned from an excellent TESOL convention in Dallas, Texas. The annual convention provides professional development for English language teachers from all over the world. I always enjoy listening to the ideas of teachers, administrators, publishers, and writers. Like every year, I always come home feeling inspired.

This year, I attended an excellent session on materials writing. In the English language teaching (ELT) industry, a materials writer is someone who writes materials (tests, l

TESOL Arabia or Driving to Dubai

My wife and I decided that we would attend the TESOL Arabia meetings last month.  It was over 6,000 km of driving and two weeks of our hard earned vacation, but we also got to see Dubai and Oman for the first time.

2346555551?profile=originalArriving in Dubai we had an impressive view (in the dark) of this very modern and very clean city. I took this photo two days later.

We missed the first day of TESOL because the people responsible for getting our exit visas took five days getting our papers so we could leave Saudi Arabi

The SAD Story

Did you know that our exposure to light can have an effect on our mood?  Sometimes this can be strong enough to make people depressed and tired all of the time. When a person is more strongly affected and feels depressed (especially in the Winter) they might have SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder).

Now that the days are beginning to get longer in the Northern Hemisphere, many people with SAD may notice an improvement in their moods.  This is even more likely the further North you live.

School Lighting and Learning

Did you know that lighting can affect the mood and behavior of students in a classroom the same as it can affect adults at their work?  Now there is some experimental work which shows that school lighting can be changed at different times of the day to help students learn.

On a bright sunny morning we may feel very much awake and want to be more active than at other times.  When a day is dark and dreary we may not feel like doing much. We all know that it is difficult to read or study when the li

I was insulted on chat! or was I?

Narcist!

The word glared at me from my computer screen as I was chatting.  How should I respond to such an exclamation?  Should I be angry?  Demand that the person be tarred and feathered and run out of EC on a rail?  Should I demand they be given a thousand lashes with a wet noodle?  Should I laugh and ask if they know what the word narcist means?

90+ % of the people who chat at EC do not speak natively fluent English.  In any group of people trying to use a foreign tongue, whether here or else

To Chat or not to chat, that is the question

The chat room here is as good or as bad as you allow it to be.  Not every person who comes here to My EC comes with a good intention.  Not every person is a "good" person.  There are some who come to prey on others.  They enjoy abusing others or they are looking to take advantage or prey on others.  It is up to each person here whether this is allowed or not.  If you permit it, you become part of the problem because you are encouraging it.  Every time

2013: The Solar Eruptions' Year

Hi everyone! This post I want to talk about a matter which I heard and readed  a couple of weeks ago on the TV newscast and Web portals, but that ocurred specifically on Monday February 17th .  This happening which my attention was focused on, it was the biggest solar storm came out by NASA through its non-manned probe SDO (Solar Dynamics Observatory) of 2013. The solar storms are explosions on the surface of the Sun due to temperature and pressure decrease of its volumes of fizzy mass in the r

You must be brave

Life is a theatre and you must take part in the troupe. Don't be a spectator because the spectator pays, but this one who takes part in the theatre is rewarded.

It  was said  by  Aeshilos in Ancient Greece.
