In the mid-1950s, humanistic psychologist Abraham Maslow created a theory of basic, psychologic

My weird smirk was no more a strange thing to my little brother. With an amusing look, his eyes threw me unspoken question I didn’t need any word to answer. Just a demure smile and he took it as “I’ve got a new guy”.
“Another ailurophile?”
“Nah, but he has a dog”
No cause for alarm
I will come to arms
The world could fall
We'd still be standing tall
It never came to my mind I would be attracted to a comely pe
Money causes teenagers to feel stress. It makes them feel bad about themselves and envy other people. My friend, for instance, lives with her family and has to share a room with her sister, who is very cute and intelligent. This girl wishes she could have her own room and have a lot of stuff, but she can’t have these things because her family doesn’t have much money. Her family’s income is pretty low because her father is old and doesn’t go to work. Her sister is the only one who works. Because
(Why Do People Lie?)
One reason people lie is to achieve personal power. Achieving personal power is helpful for someone who pretends to be more confident than he really is. For example, one of my friends threw a party at his house last month. He asked me to come to his party and bring a date. However, I didn’t have a girlfriend. One of my other friends, who had a date to go to the party with, asked me about my date. I didn’t want to be embarrassed, so I claimed that I had a lot of work to do. I
Father was a hardworking man who delivered bread as a living to support his wife and three children. He spent all his evenings after work attending classes, hoping to improve himself so that he could one day find a better paying job. Except for Sundays, Father hardly ate a meal together with his family. He worked and studied very hard because he wanted to provide his family with the best money could buy.
Whenever the family complained that he was not spending enough time with them, he reasoned th
Whenever I feel lonely,
My loneliness try to tell me
Listen,
Dear You are not lonely...
Your PARENTS is here,
To guide you,
To fulfill your wishes,
To protect you...
Your SIBLINGS are here,
To take care of you,
To tease you...
Your RELATIVES are here,
For helping you,
For giving you company in your difficult time...
Your FRIENDS are here,
To make your life colorful,
To motivate you...
Your PARTNER is here,
To make you complete,
To make you special..
So then I smile and reply back to my loneliness..
Oh yea
Yes, 'gave you away' means 'showed something about you that was a secret'.
Some members here on MyEC keep copying other's writing from the Internet instead of writing their own. They might have wanted to share what they thought was worth sharing, or they might have tried to fool us into believing the blog was written by themselves.
But we're not allowed to do that - not to copy a piece of writing from the Internet without the permission from the author. Don't plagiarize!
I know it may be so har
Idioms are the colorful aspect of any language. Using them as a non-native speaker, makes your speech less awkward. But remember, never translate them word-for-word (literally) into your native language. Do that and you'll get all topsy-turvy! Now, now, don't panic! Using them is quite delightful if you get the hang of it. It'll be fun and you'll enjoy speaking English much more.

I was standing in our balcony last night with my parents and the moon is so very cool and the wind produced a rhythm like a whistle and I feel so very happy because that time we drink ice tea and suddenly I saw something like a falling star, so I asked my father about the falling star because I thought that the star is bigger than earth and what happen for us if the star falling down on earth. My father answered and he said it was a comet. He didn't explain it to me what is comet but instead he

I know, I know. Another blog about accents. I searched MyEC and found 52 (or was it 58?) pages related to the keyword 'accent'. Honestly, I did not check them out. Why? I have my reasons, so don't ask! Here are a bunch of different types of accents that fictional characters could be recognized by them:

"There are these two young fish swimming along, and they happen to meet an older fish swimming the other way, who nods at them and says, - “Morning, boys, how's the water?” And the two young fish swim on for a bit, and then eventually one of them looks over at the other and goes, -“What the hell is water?” ~David Foster Wallace.

Study after study shows the single most important factor determining the quality of the education a child receives is the quality of his teacher.
What makes a great teacher? Teaching is one of the most complicated jobs today. It demands broad knowledge of subject matter, curriculum, and standards; enthusiasm, a caring attitude, and a love of learning; knowledge of discipline and classroom management techniques; and a desire to make a difference in the lives of young people. With all these qualiti
Most teachers have little control over school policy or curriculum or choice of texts or special placement of students, but most have a great deal of autonomy inside the classroom. To a degree shared by only a few other occupations, such as police work, public education rests precariously on the skill and virtue of the people at the bottom of the institutional pyramid.
ALLAH (GOD) CREATED HUMAN BEING....... For what Purpose?
Yes, it's an idiom, which means 'there is no limit to something'.
You can use the idiom to say there is no limit to someone's success or achievement, for example, you can say 'The sky's the limit for anyone who really wants to excel at English'.
The idiom can be so useful - it depends on how well you get it. You can also use it to say you can write whatever you want or talk about anything you like.
However, that's not what I'm trying to say. What I mean is how much hard work we need to master En
To all members of MyEC and those who'll join us later:
Recently, I bumped into a status that really hurt my feelings. I don't intend to cause a ruckus and quote the exact words. Seriously, what would be the point? It was a pet peeve about the comments some friends, accent on friends, leave on each other's walls.
Personally, I'm glad that this particular English club is not a 'dating site'. The Terms and Conditions section has made it crystal clear for anyone who thinks otherwise. And it should, na
