We can miss the words like  snow, sleet, hail, rain and freezing in our weather reports. Finally Spring arrived. No winter lasts for ever. March 1st is the first day of spring.

Those tiny miracles...

A "Wake up, you're gonna be late. Again!" from your mother,

a slight kick from her when you want to sleep for five more minutes,

a good morning kiss from her when you say, "Ouch! I'm up, I'm up, I'm up.",

a manly hug from your father,

a sigh of relief from you which means that he's got your back; no matter what,

a baby's laughter in a crowded subway,

a secret handshake with your best bud that was cool once you invented it, but it was awfully weird for others, (the handshake is still cool for you two,

The situation

There are five houses in five different colors in a row. In each house lives a person with a different nationality. The five owners drink a certain type of beverage, smoke a certain brand of cigar and keep a certain pet. No owners have the same pet, smoke the same brand of cigar, or drink the same beverage. Other facts:

  1. The Brit lives in the red house.
  2. The owner living in the center house drinks milk.
  3. The Spanish keeps a dog as pet.
  4. The Japanese smokes “Parliament”.
  5. The Norwegian lives

As a lot of you know the Latin people occupied Great Britain for centuries. So then a lot of people spoke Latin and a lot of prest words in English come from Latin. For example, "street" comes from "strata", which means "camp". Then there are alot of English words which are Latin forms. Especially in medicine, there are a lot of them, like "pneumonia, bronchitis, thyroid, penis, appendicitis", and so on. As well as, words like "album, pendulum, addendum, auditorium", etc.

My dear friends! I managed to get sick and to lose my voice a few days ago. So, if I can't teach either my students or my band, I decided to teach you some American and British sayings, idioms and proverbs. My idea is the following. First, I will post a few expressions with the examples asking you to explain what they mean. I'd like to say there are so many English idioms that you can't know them all! So, the idea of speaking/listening any foreign language well is to be able to understand the ge

I am Happy

I am happy

Life is short

But I am happy

I am happy to work

I am happy in rest

I have no vehicle to travel

But I am happy

To walk by feet

If nobody with me

I am happy alone

If someone angry on me

I am happy with that aggration

The past has been gone

I am happy with the memories in the past

Future will come

But I am happy to wait the future

My life is full of happiness

Life is short

I am happy

I will be happy

I will stay happy

Because I am happy with my attitude to be happy

Stay happy

Are You on the Horn of Dilemmas?

Do you know what's to be on the horn of dilemmas? If you don't, know it's preferable not to be on the horn of dilemmas. The expression on the horn of dilemmas is an idiom and means:

a)"faced with two equally undesirable alternatives";

b)"unable to decide between two things because either could bring bad results ";

c)"having to decide between two things, people, etc".

Probably, you're on the horn of dilemmas when you have too much homework to do and at the same time you have to do washing up.

Because of My Carelessness [Part 2]

PART 1, the first time I was hospitalized. :D This time, I won’t tell you about the same case but the foolish ones that I can’t forget. :D

When I was at the college, I was a secretary of the student organization. 2347223778?profile=originalOn the active day, I went everywhere with much cash in my wallet. It was in the evening when I was home that I found there’s no wallet anymore in my back pocket of my jeans. I searched through my room, around the house, and also the park of my motorbike. No hope. I lost it. I calmly face

Job Interviews - For English Learners

Job interviews - for English learners.

By Dayne Collins.

I am sure we all LOVE job interviews, right? (Perhaps the next article will be about mastering sarcasm.)

Unfortunately for most of us they are something we can not avoid. If you want the job, you must succeed at the interview. In today's international job market, many big companies require the use of English, and as a result many job interviews for the positions people want around the world are likely to be conducted in English.

Mummy and Me

My name is Max. I am two years old. I am living with my mummy Michelle, in London. My mummy is a teacher and she is lovely. She looked after me very well. Weather its rain or snow my mummy takes me out every day before she goes to work. Because I was little rude to other dogs, my mummy takes me early in the morning before the other dogs go to the park.2347223748?profile=original

What Make Your Hair Stand on End?

Has something ever made your hair stand on end? I explain. This expression is the idiom make someone's hair stand on end which means "to cause  someone to be very frightened".

So, now, you already know what this expression really is, probably you'll agree that at least one time in your life, you felt like something made your hair stand on end.

It's not difficult really! Maybe a sci-fi film that you watched very late on telly or a friend or cousin that played a trick on you, made your hair stand on

Let's Go Exploring!

In one of my previous blog entires; I mentioned Peanuts comics and appreciated Charles M. Schulz's brilliant work. This blog is dedicated to Bill Watterson who is a heap of awesomeness on legs! Actually, my old collections of Calvin and Hobbes were kinda my bedtime stories during childhood. As a kid, I wasn't a big fan of fairy tales. No wonder I turned into a realist now. A disturbingly cynical one!

Whenever I flip through the pages, I keep telling myself, "It's just a quick look. You're just go

As a student, I need to study English just to understand what is written on the books particularly in all learning areas books except in Filipino. I need to learn more on how or when to use the nine parts of speech, on how to pronounce the word correctly and to understand my teacher during class discussion. Because my teachers now a days use English language when they communicating or talking to us (students) even in in and out of our classroom. English also is an international language. It is t
