According to Buddhist teachings, one should not eat meat, because eating meat is killing and destroying LIFE, which is cruel and unmerciful. People who eat meat are not acceptable to Buddhism. Another view point is that the meat you eat may have come from your parents and relatives, because it may come from the animal that they happen to have been reincarnated into. Therefore, one should absolutely abstain from eating meat. Later Buddhist preachers proposed

I Am Feeling Like at Home

I have been here in the Baltimore MD (The USA) for last nine months. Now I am feeling like at home.  How and why?  Let’s see candidly:

I am now seeing people here also throw all sorts of garbage openly on the road like glasses of drinks, bottles of wines which are sometimes broken and scattered on the footpaths and grass. They do not bother to put them in the corner at a safe place if no garbage can is provided.  There is a colony yonder of my back yard, Some of the residents throw their garbage

Eight Kinds of People that Xue Feng Admires
Xue Feng

There are eight kinds of people that I admire in the human world.

1. People without debts
I admire you deeply if you don’t owe anybody any money or property, or have not borrowed any money from the bank and yet can entertain yourself with good food every day, have a house to live in, at night you raise your head to appreciate the stars and moon, during the day you look casually at the clouds drifting, gathering and scattering in the sky, and go

Should we say sorry?

2347443546?profile=original       The people are such weird creatures that feel emotions. One of these emotions is sentimental.

Sentiment is a feeling that gives happines and suffering, peace and nervousness, pleasure and hate at the same time. You feel good because you are happy to know that you got such a good time, but in the same moment you feel so bad because that time has gone.

An easy way to feel sentiments is to remember something good and think about it as if it does not exist anymore. Just remember o

Two fun events in summer in Japan

Two fun events in summer in Japan are festivals and fireworks. The summer festivals are called Natumaturi(夏祭り). Japanese traditional dance Bonodori is danced at many parks in summer night, where many outdoor stalls sell toys and foods, and you can play games like a shooting gallery and quoits. We go there wearing Yukata, which is Japanese traditional clothing like a light summer kimono. A lot of big rockets are set off on the banks of the stream, and we enjoy them. We also enjoy small fireworks

Besides the serene, beautiful, and natural environment, and the harmonious human environment, the Second Home has another important characteristic -- freedom.

Freedom is not having everything your own way and doing whatever you want, but doing what you like freely and never over the “rules”. In the Second Home, the rules are found in Chanyuan Values -- mainly stated in “800 Values for the New Era Human Beings

“People’s longing for a beautiful life is our goal.”

When I read these warm words spoken by President Xi, my heart was touched by his saint-like love. Yes, is it not one’s final goal to live on earth for a happy, joyful, free, and blessed life? People are making efforts every day, every month, and every year. Why? Are they not working for an ideal life? President Xi has sent the words right into

In the Second Home, everything is wonderful and desirable, so how is this realized and maintained so well?

The picture of Xanadu in each person’s heart could be different and unique, but at least two points are the same: one is the graceful, serene, clean, tidy, and natural environment, with abundant food, no worries, quarrels, troubles, or noise, and the other is the harm

Just 'talk with them out"

We were all shocked when our beloved nephew (he was just one month behind his 16th year) diagnosed with an acutely aggressive brain tumor.  Doctors gave him only a few months to live.  I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.  I was totally numb for the sometimes. I was not really prepared for that, really not.  I remember it was one of the days when I was babysitting him in the hospital, he said to me, “mamoo (uncle) I am feeling severe pain……….”  I ran to the attending doctor and asked him to do

ESL teachers face the unique challenge of working with students who speak English as a second language. This linguistic divide can make it more difficult for both students and teachers, occasionally leading to frustration and damaging the teacher-student relationship.

Because of this, many ESL teachers turn to technology to bridge the gap, using e-learning tools to make the process of learning more fun and interactive. After all, having fun while learning can encourage students to take more respo

Have you noticed something wonderful today? Perhaps you experienced something beautiful in your surroundings? Whatever it is, here’s a simple expression that native English speakers use when they find something nice and pretty.

An Urban Dictionary contributor defines a ‘thing of beauty’ as something that is favorable, appealing or just plain nice.

You must Come From the Heaven

You must Come From the Heaven

Xuefeng

(Translated by Conglong)

You always smile and talk gently,

like the white cloud in the sky

You walk quietly

like the swinging willow

You are so sweet

as the spring water

Limpid and pure

Your love is so transparent

Covers no earthly dust

Only flows with fragrance

Your affections are so sincere

Just as the lasting spring

Green lands all year round

You must come from the heaven

Or you will not kiss passionately in public

Regardless of secular eyes

You must come from the
