Once a man cooked a very delicious Biryani. But he didn’t invite his next door neighbor to the dinner neither he sent a plate to him. The Biryani was really very tasty its fragrance was reaching to the neighbor and he wished that his neighbor would have invited him or at least send a plate of Biryani for him. Next day he tried to ashamed the neighbor and said to him that last night his Biryani was very tasty and he enjoyed the it. The neighbor got surprised and asked how come he enjoyed the Biryani when he was not invited. The neighbor said that he had been enjoying the fragrance all the time. Hearing this the neighbor got angry and said that why did he in take all the fragrance of the Biryani without his permission, and caused his Biryani less fragrant. He asked him to pay him for that. The argument got infuriated and finding no solution the matter was referred to the local court.
Hearing all the case, the judge decided that the other neighbor who in took the fragrance of the Biryani should pay back the complainant. He asked the complainant penalty he was to be compensated. The neighbor told the amount. Then the judge asked the defendant to come close to him and whispered something in his ear. Then he adjourned the court till next day and ordered the defendant to bring the demanded money.
Next day when the court began, the judge asked the two neighbors to come near him and asked the defendant whether he had brought the money. The defending neighbor showed the bag of money. The judge ordered him to pay the complainant. The defending neighbor shook the bag of money which was full of coins near the ear of the complainant for a while. He got shocked and asked the judge what was that. The judge said, “This man only in took the fragrance of your Biryani, and not the Biryani itself, so you can get only the tinkling of the money and not the money itself. You got what you deserve.”
