Find and Correct a Mistake

2347240576?profile=originalMy dear friends! I decided to join my “star husband”, Danny  Clark,  and to teach you some English, too. As I have been teaching English grammar and training for TOEFL for many years, you will be getting mostly grammar-based tasks from me. So, let’s start!

To begin with, here are 10 sentences. There is at least one grammar mistake in each of them. So, your task is to find the mistakes, to correct them, to explain them (if you can) and to give your examples.

Sizda Bedar is an Iranian festival, held annually on the thirteenth day of Nowruz, Iranian New year. People leave houses to join nature, and spend the day outdoors. It is an ancient ceremony and a public holiday.

Today, (the thirteenth in outdoors), I woke up and felt my eyes were very itchy, because I’m allergic to spring……I went to a Day-night pharmacy to buy eye drops, there were two girls working in the pharmacy, one of them was working with a laptop, she was crying quietly!

I asked another

Waht deos dyxlesia kloo lkie?

I bet it was hard to read the title, wasn't it? Your reading speed was interrupted as you were trying to 'decode' those weird-looking words. Very frustrating, huh? This is how a dyslexic feels every time they want to read something. Welcome to their world! Dyslexia is a general term for disorders that involve difficulty in learning to read or interpret words, letters, and other symbols, however, that do not affect general intelligence.

-Living la vida Laowai-

Wikipedia describes Laowai as a commonly used Mandarin Chinese word, and a shorter, informal version of wàiguórén 外国人 ("foreigner").
Laowai is not intended as a negative word. Of course you may hear expat stories where the word has been adapted to be used negatively by some. Sadly, this has become human nature. I am currently not an expat, and my story is not a story about international racism. However, my story is about being different. My story is about being an ou

A Busy Street:

 A Busy Street:

I am once again in that street where I first saw you.  It is one of the busiest places in the whole city.  I remember the smile on your beautiful lips.  Even today the slight trembling of your lower lip tickles my entire self.  I remember you were strolling in the street, which was looking narrow and so small because of heavy rush of traffic and large number of people, who were passing through it.  The street is in the center of the city, and you were the center of my attention.

2347240513?profile=originalMy dear friends! One of our EC members, the Way to the Moon (hope, she is still on the Earth with us! Smile!), has just given me a great idea and I am about  to implement it right away! Sure, when you hear or read English, you should catch the general sense and all my previous blogs were about understanding English idioms. But it is another matter when you start speaking or writing yourselves. You should be 100% sure how to use this or that idiom or not use it at all if you don't want to sound f

Project-Semicolon.jpg?width=600

Have you seen lately anyone with a semicolon drawn on their skin?

This is the story about a nonprofit movement started in April 2013, in honor to Amy Bleuel's father, who took his own life, and to give voice to her own fight with mental illness:

"The idea was to encourage anyone haunted by these demons to draw a semicolon on their body, photograph it, and share it to encourage love and to inspire."

Why a semicolon?
This 'movement' took the semicolon as symbol to the choice to continue life, beca
