Here in Brazil some time ago every woman had to do it when they got married, but now they choose if they want to get her husband's surname or not. Still, if the husband wants, he can do it, instead of the wife.

I think I forgot to share my link here! Oops. Speaking of names...I see you've changed to your married name, Joyce. Fettermann sounds very nice and seems a bit easier to spell. :) I always had trouble with your maiden name.
