Those boats are long tail boats and I was several times on one of those boats.
The boats have weird engines (mostly from trucks) and if you are on the boat, it's better to wear bathing clothes because there is much water coming on your body from the sea. I got wringing wet how never before in my entire life. But it was fun!
That wooden stick is a part of a boat. I took that photo while I was sitting on a boat on the way to an island. There are many of those rocks ... it's really stunning.
