    Hello, Purple Raven!

    Welcome to MyEC! It's nice to know you like butterflies, too. This isn't a butterfly caterpillar though, but a species of a hawkmoth. When I saw one in my garden I kept it and took a photo of it and asked some people (who are more knowledgeable with insects) on Facebook. I wrote a story about raising a hawkmoth. Here's my blog.
