I am not sure the U.S.A. has a traditional sweet but one that is traditional in the Southern U.S.A. in this pie - Pecan which is a word pronounced differently in different parts of the country.

I disagree with his choice for this area - it is "Puh con" here; the short "e" has transmuted to an "uh" and the can is pronounced con/cawn.
Bala it is easy to make if you can find the 2 main ingredients - pecans (a nut) and Karo Corn Syrup. There is also a Chocolate Pecan Pie which I prefer over this one.
