Ded Moroz is the Santa Clause in Russian. He is the most beloved character the holidays, because he brings presents. Very often in a children institutions, women are forced to play the role of Ded Moroz (Santa Claus), as it is very expensive for the school and other children institution - to invite the real actor. A men in a Russian school - are rare. :-)Reason? A small salary.:-)

The photo reminds me of my childhood. I went to kindergarten and we had the sama New Year celebrations with Ded Moroz ( women played the role of Ded Moroz), we also had such colourful costumes. When I studied at school I played the role of Snow Maiden and I was so proud and happy.
