The pedestrians path is stepped flat and smooth by pedestrians. And it seems like, one of my stupid neighbor think, that it's a ideal place for him to park his car.. across over it, blocking the way. :)It's not first time I see that car parked on pedestrian's way..No one ever cleans snow from that pedestrian way. It's pedestrians hard work every time to walk the path in again, after it snows. There isn't any parking place at that side of road too. It's just the car owners arrogance that allows them to park there.. But that could be okay, since it's winter. It won't damage the grass, and there really isn't enough parking lots for cars.. But I can't forgive those who occupy the pedestrians way.I hate such kind of car people. Why I as pedestrian have to walk around for their convenience?

Yes "effort" is right. "afford" is used when you want to say whether you can allow something to yourself. Like whether you have enough money.
It is very energy consuming to walk, if the snow is wet on warmer temperature. Also when there's ice under snow... In such case: For each step the foot slides back a bit so.. some energy goes just to push snow backward under feet.
True. The paths wander off from their original tracks at winter. Since it's all covered by snow, often people and cars just have to walk new path through, without knowing where the original path really was.
Unfortunately, there have been also some fatal accidents with people, falling to some forgotten uncovered manhole in somewhere side of road, when step away from bath... The hole have got covered by snow, so it's no way to know..
Some homeless people steal those metal manhole covers and try to sell to junkyard as scrap iron.. Although the junkyards have banned to buy manhole overs from individual person(only licensed companies that own and maintain the underground networks, can deal with them) There's still some scrap yards, that ignore law fabricate documents, and accept anything... So.. yeah. Well, BTW, also electrical wires and railways parts are not accepted from individual person in junkyard. Because those also get stolen easily.. Nevertheless the telephone companies still get big losses from striped mobile poles, when some cable robbers cut and steal cables, to sell them as scrap metal.
...I think this year haven't been any death cases of someone falling to manhole yet, but previous years, there was several cases, when someone died like that.. It's horrible way to die. I think.
For country roads they usually mark both road edges with sticks, that have reflective tape warped around the top end. So the snow plowers and drivers won't get lost from road after snow.
You are right, there's a lot of selfish bastards drivers and also non drivers everywhere. Why can't they think a little bit, and take the surrounding into consideration even a little? But they only demand own rights.. and even want to be over and above all other's rights.
