I used a tripod and played with different shutter speed / aperture combinations. I don't remember what shutter speed/aperture I finally settled on for the photos. It was more than a second though if I recall correctly. If I go back, I'll use a higher Fstop (maybe F11) and longer shutter time to get more depth of field even than I have here. Start with automatic on your camera, take note of the shutter speed and aperture, and then check your resulting photo. Too dark, then set shutter speed and aperture manually to increase the exposure and keep doing so until it is what you like.
