Yeah Elen, now I got it :) it sounds similar to Rakija which they drink in Croatia and is also made of grapes :) No worries, we will drink wine and watch sunset :D
Luci, my bad. My father makes "tsipouro" (in Crete they call it "Raki" if you have heard) which is made from the remains of grapes that left after pressing and extraction of the must for wine production and it has alcohol. It is almost same with ouzo. Many people here is confused with these two drinks, so do I :) Oh, yeah, I wish I could visit you one day and drink the wine together :D
Elen, yeah I have been to Grece twice (Crete and Rhodes) and I wish I would visit it again because I really like Greek culture, cuisine, history etc. Btw ouzo is made of grapes? Once I drank some ouzo and it was made of licorice (but parents bought it in Turkey? :D). We also have here such hard liqueres made of plums or appricots, appels and I like them even though they are really very, very strong :-D anyway, if you visited me, I would rather welcome you with a glass of Czech white wine ;-)
Luci, haha, souvlaki and gyros are delicious! We eat them as a fast food. Musaka is one of the Greek national foods, I am glad you like it. About retsina, I don't like it much too, although it is a kind of white wine but I prefer the classical white or red wine. About the ouzo, it is too much for me and it make me feel dizzy easily. My father produces it from his own grapes but I don't drink it at all! I almost bleeeeeee... too :D
Happy that you liked the Greek cousine, you are welcome to come to Greece!
Elen, yupee m glad u saw this pic because it is your national food and I do love it!!! Souvlaki, gyros or musakaaaa yummee... the only one thing or oopps two things m not familiar with :D ouzo and retsina :D bleeeeeeeeeee... otherwise I also love red "heavy" greek wines ;) thanx for comment...dear ;)
Luci, oh, so you have tasted greek cousine. I am glad that you like it. When I go to a tavern with friends, usually they brings us big plates like this and I am like "Oh my, how we will manage to eat all this :o".
Well, although we are blessed with the Mediterannean diet, unfortunately we don't follow it as much as we should do. We eat more :D
