Inga, they are made by rice. They can go sweet or salt that all depend on what you like. Some may put sesame or red bean inside too. You can taste various Mochi with different flavor here. It's kind of our local dessert. :)

They're handmade Mochi (rice cake), that is made of rice. The left one tastes a bit salt with some pine nuts and meat; the right one is covered with powder of peanut and the filling inside is powder of sesame. :) Japan has Mochi, right?
