In fact, Sri Lanka is an island-country, so it is surrounded by the sea or ocean; it was renowned as the pearl in the Indian Ocean in the ancient time. Yes, beyond doubt, it is a paradise from the environmental point of view. As it is closer to the equator, the long-term weather pattern or the climate is categorically tropical, but because of inner landscape and mountainous central part, it is possible to experience a sort of wonderful mixed climate within the country; if someone travels from “Matara” to “Badulla” by train, “that someone” can easily enter and enjoy a wider range of agro-climatic environments.
