The United States has a lot of famous places one can visit, but I decided to suggest one off the beaten track - Amish Country. You can visit Amish areas in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Indiana among others. If you aren't familiar with the Amish, you should do a search.

  • Interesting! We have a large Amish community right here in my city (on the outskirts). It is not uncommon to see a horse and buggy parked at the grocery store or mall. In fact, some local places have horse and buggy parking!

  • I love how the Amish communities survived living in a very modern and powerful country like the USA, and yet maintaining their live styles.

  • This is how the Amish live.  They do not have modern conveniences such as automobiles, TVs, Computers or even (for most) electricity.  If they do have electricity it is self-generated on their land such as by a windmill they build.  They do not like having their photos taken either since they believe it can lead to vanity.  But their food is "to die for".

  • The place I want to visit most in the US is not NY or the like big cities, but its countryside. I hope to hear the live country music by the people there.

I agree with you, Grace. It's like a movie scene.

  • It looks like the scene of a movie.

  • I wish I could one day ride a horse buggy in a place like the one shown in the picture! So beautiful!

Thanks, Tim New, for sharing this amazing photo with us.
