Although we do get some snow, Virginia is really a mild climate. A-frames are often found in high snow areas but I think the builders of this house just liked the style. This was originally a summer home, near a lake. I had to add a kitchen when I bought it. It was my first house and needed a lot of improvements, but I loved it.
