On December 17, 1903, Orville Wright made the first-ever manned flight at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. His flight lasted 12 seconds and covered a distance of 120 ft(37 m). That same day, Orville’s brother (Wilbur) made his first flight, which lasted 59 seconds, with the same aircraft.
Almost five years later, the Wright brothers were the first to fly in an airplane formore than one hour. On Sept 9, 1908, Orville Wright flew for 1 hour, 2 minutes, and 15 seconds. On Sept 21, 1908, Wilbur Wright flew for 1 hour, 31 minutes, and 25.8 seconds.
Airplane engines may be classified as driven by propeller, jet, turbojet, or rocket. Most engines originally were of the internal-combustion, piston-operated type, which may be air- or liquid-cooled.
Seventy-five thousand engineering drawings were used to produce the first Boeing 747.
The first United States coast to coast airplane flight occurred in 1911 and took 49 days.
A Boeing 737 weighing 150,000 pounds (68,000 kg) must deflect about 88,000 pounds (40,000 kg) of air – over a million cubic feet (31,500 cubit metres) down by 55 feet (16.75 m) each second while in flight.
The fastest passenger aircraft was the concorde but its no longer in service. The fastest aircraft is SR-71 Blackbird i believe. But I heard somewhere that NASA is working on a hypersonic aircraft.
Birds were the fastest creatures on Earth until 1919. At that time, pilots first reached speeds of 190 mph (306 km/hr). Thus, the record for fastest speeds among birds was broken. The champion bird had been the peregrine falcon, clocked at speeds nearing 185mph(298km/hr) while diving. Since then, even cars and trains have beaten that record.
Now, pilots can fly at supersonic (faster than sound) speeds. Currently, pilots in the fastest aircraft, X-15A-2, can fly Mach 6 (six times the speed of sound) or about 4,500 mph (7,000 km/hr).
WHY DO STARS TWINKLE :-
The scientific name for the twinkling of stars is stellar scintillation (or astronomical scintillation). Stars twinkle when we see them from the Earth's surface because we are viewing them through thick layers of turbulent (moving) air in the Earth's atmosphere.
Stars (except Sun) appear as tiny dots in the sky. As their light travels through the many layers of the Earth's atmosphere, the light of the star is bent (refracted) many times and in random directions. This random refraction results in the star winking out . It looks as though the star moves a bit, and our eye interprets this as twinkling.
Stars would not appear to twinkle if we viewed them from outer space.

Money can buy a house, but not a home.
Money can buy a bed, but not sleep.
Money can buy a clock, but not time.
Money can buy a book, but not knowledge.
Money can buy food, but not an appetite.
Money can buy position, but not respect.
Money can buy blood, but not life.
Money can buy insurance, but not safetly
You see, money is not everything!
A Clever King
There was a country long time ago where the people would change a king every year. The person who would become the king had to agree to a contract that he will be sent to an island after his one year of being a king. So, one king finished his term and it was time for him to go to the island and live there. The people dressed him up in expensive clothes and put him on an elephant and took him around the cities to say goodbye to all the people. This was the moment of sadness for all the kings who ruled for one year. After saying goodbye, the people took the king with a boat to the remote island and left him there. On their way back, they discovered a ship that had sunk just recently. They saw a young man who survived by holding on to a floating piece of wood. As they needed a new king, they picked up the young man and took him to their country. They requested him to be a king for a year. First he refused but later he agreed to be a king. People told him about all the rules and regulations and that how he will be sent to an island after one year.
After three days of being a king, he asked the ministers if they could show him the island where all the other kings were sent. They agreed and took him to the island. The island was covered with thick jungles and sound of vicious animals were heard coming out of them. The king went little bit inside to see how it was and discovered the dead bodies of all the past kings. He understood that as soon as they were left in the island, the animals came and killed them. The king then went back to the country and requested the people to provide him with 100 strong workers. He was provided with 100 workers and he took them to the island and told them to remove all the deadly animals and to cut down all the trees. He would visit the island every month to see how the work is progressing. In the first month, all the animals were removed and many trees were cut down. In the second month, the whole island was cleaned out. The king then told the workers to plant gardens in various parts of the island. He also took with himself useful animals like chickens, ducks, birds, goats, cows etc. In the third month, he ordered the workers to build big houses and docking stations for ships. Over the months, the island turned into a beautiful place. The young king would wear simple clothes and spend very little from his earnings. He sent all the earnings to the island for storage. Nine months have passed like this. The king called the people and told them that "I know that I have to go the island after one year, but I would like to go there right now." But the people didn't agree to this and said that he have to wait for another 3 months to complete the year.
3 months passed and now it was a full year. The people dressed up the young king and put him on an elephant to take him around the country to say goodbye to others. However, this king is unusually happy to leave the kingdom. People asked him, "All the other kings would cry at this moment and why are you laughing?" He replied, "Don't you know what the wise people say? They say that when you came to this world as a baby, you were crying and everyone was smiling. Live such a life that when you are dieing, you will be smiling and everyone around you will be crying. I have lived that life. While all the other kings were lost into the luxuries of the kingdom, I always thought about the future and planned for it. I turned the deadly island into a beautiful abode for me where I can stay peacefullly."
We should take a lesson from this story about how we should also live our life. The life of this world is to prepare for the life hereafter. In this life, we shouldn't get lost into the beautiful things of this world and forget about what is to come in the afterlife. Rather, even if we are kings, we should live a simple life like our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and save all our enjoyments for the hereafter. May Allah make it easy for us all.
here you can say or write ur wishes to our Dearest teacher in this great website
Dear Anele u can't emagine how much I like you, happy birthday I wish you all the best in ur life, I hope all ur dreams come ture :)
All English learners would like to speak English well. They are excited at the idea of being able to communicate in English fluently. However, they usually don’t care about the learning process itself. For most learners, learning English is a duty — something that they have to, but don’t want to do. They don’t see pleasure in learning English.
In short, most learners would like to speak English well but don’t like to be learning English. This is the first and biggest problem facing an English learner, because a person who doesn’t like to learn English will not learn it well. If you don’t love English, English won’t love you back!
If you want to become a successful learner, you need to like the learning process itself. You need to treat time spent on English as time for pleasure and relaxation. For example, you need to enjoy:
Now think and tell us about ur difficulties ??
For the traveler who needs a quick hit of shut eye, these mobile pods called “Sleep Boxes” may solve the issue of having to check into a hotel for a short period of time. Dubai Airport looks to be one of the first to receive their deployment of “Sleep Boxes.”Chillnite News is reporting that they’re receiving between 50 and 70 of them in the coming month. “Sleep Boxes" are small cubicle spaces that are available at public places like airports, train stations etc where people can book the ‘box’ for a set time period to catch some sleep. It offers a small resting space while you wait for that connection in a few hours. Ofcourse it doesnt come with an attached washroom…you can use a public one for that. The concept is not new, as Japan already has ‘Capsule Hotels’ that serve the same purpose. The only difference is that Sleep Boxes are bigger in size and give space to sit and sleep.
Hello everyone,
love & marriage via the Net has always been the polemic of newspapers and other media.
According to google, Moroccans top the list of people who most frequently look up for romance, love and marriage via the Net.
Is it really love that leads people to look for it on the net? why looking for a soul mate that a person has never met or seen before and who is living so far
from him? if anyone can have more chances to meet his soul mate, maybe someone who is staying just meters from his house or staying in the same neighborhood, the same city or country, so why adventuring to meet someone thousand kilometers away that you only rely on what he said and there’s no way for you to check his profile.
what do you think about marriage via the net? had anyone or had one of your relatives got married in this way? can you please share your experience or experience of someone that you know and who got married via the Net?
The princess going back to her lovely house

Good morning dear Friends
Two days ago I noticed that a precious person missing here in EC, a person which is very kind who welcomed all the people when they enter to join this lovely website, she is Anele.

Today before you say an unkind word- Think of someone who can't speak.
Before you complain about the taste of your food - Think of someone who has nothing to eat.
Before you complain about your husband or wife - Think of someone
who's crying out to Allah for a companion.
Today before you complain about life- Think of someone who has to work 18 hours a day to make ends meet.
Before whining about the distance you drive - Think of someone who
walks the same distance with their feet.
And when you are tired and complain about your job - Think of the
unemployed, the disabled, and those who wish they had your job.
And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down - Put a smile on your face , count your blessings not your problems and remember to look at those below you ...
After being addicted in this lovely website, amazing memebers of course by their wonderful comments , their helps.....etc, I'll be absent for a while bcz I found a job and I need French more than english, I have to speak it as soon as possible, so I'm going to study it, I know it's hard but I must try and try till I achieve my goal bcz it's one of my resolution in this year so if any one can give me hand, wesites, chat, title of interesting books, ideas, I'll be thankful :)
