Hi Morse! My native language is Portuguese. Yes, ti's not difficult for me to learn a new language. I tried French and it was really easy, unfortunately I didn't have enough time to keep on studying it! It will be a pleasure to talk to you about English! :) See you!
Morse, it may take time to become fluent when you're speaking with non-English speakers. But, if you inject English sentences or just words as you speak to others, soon, you will remember and increase your vocabularies.
And, continue to read in English, for example, the editorial page of any Chinese English newspaper. Just read the words and correct the pronunciation as you read, and don't mind the meaning yet. Here, your goal is to speak the English word first. Then, after reading the editorial page, jot down the words you do not know the meaning of. Have a notebook and dictionary by your side. Then, look the word in the dictionary including the part of sentence - whether it's noun, verb, adjective, etc. and even the pronunciation and the definition. After that, read again once more the editorial page, and look at the meaning or definition of the word you didn't understand. That way, after reading, you will understand what you have just read. Don't memorize. What is needed is to read and understand the words you didn't know. As you do that daily, I'm very sure, you will remember the words.
Dictionary is relative to learning English. so, you must have one good dictionary always at your side as you read. And a notebook where you can write or jot down notes and words.
Reading really helps a lot to our quest for learning English. You can read aloud as a practice, and you will be surprised that you're speaking fluently. We recommend reading to widen our knowledge and to learn speaking in English.
