Hi! I am glad you like my city. It is really great and unique like most of big European cities. According to one more legend it was apostle Andrew who prophesied Kiev foundation and its further development and prosperity when he arrived here at the beginning of the 1st century B.C. It is only a legend but there is a great church in his honor on the main Kieven hill. This church is really unique not only outside but also inside. It was constructed in the 18th century by the famous architect Rastrelly who also constructed Russian St. Petersberg which is still called Nothern Venice. The walls of the Church of St. Andrew were painted by the greatest Russian artists. This construction is a masterpiece but it has been closed for the visitors for many years because it is located on the hill that is moving due to the ground waters. I was lucky to seet it from inside when young. You can see this building among my pictures.
I'd like to say that contrary to my niece Lyuda who has a faith in God at heart, I have always been non-religious. However, it doesn't mean "non-spiritual". We can speak about history, art, social problems, English, etc. We can speak about religion too because I learned it to be able to agrue. But I think it is necessary to tell you about that. Anyway, I like to communicate with different people and it is more interesting when people have different point of view.
