...students in my class from Brazil......
Many Americans think that you speak Spanish in Brazil. Sometimes they are a bit ignorant about these things.
I also know that Latin Americans do not call us Americans since all people in the Western Hemisphere are Americans. They call us North Americans. I was taught that we all are Americans when I was in elementary school. I supposed we were given the name Americans by the British when we were the American Colonies. But it is funny that we do not have a name like estadounidenses . We call ourselves Americans and there is no word for "United Statesians. " Because of this we call ourselves Americans in English.
Here are the corrections you asked for. Look carefully because some of the corrections are very small. Always feel free to ask me why I corrected something if you don't understand it :
Oh! You’re right, I forgot about Spanish...”igualmente” in Portuguese is exactly the same in Spanish. In general Spanish and Portuguese are very similar. Most of the words mean the same thing but we pronounce them differently as well as the way we write the words.
I’m so impressed how Brazilians can understand and speak Spanish so well and some Spanish people (depends on where they are from) cannot understand us, and did you know that a lot of Brazilian people don’t like to speak Spanish? ( not me) But this happens because a lot words and’ verb conjugations in Spanish are exactly the wrong way in Portuguese so Brazilians feel like they have no education at all.
In my country like all the others in the world, we have English classes as an obligation and just a few years ago Brazilians have started learning Spanish seriously. I think that is a good decision.

Have a nice one..:)
